The Property
Traditional and contemporary Lisbon meets at Curio Duo. The existing listed building in Rua da Boavista finds its new build, modern counterpart in Rua Dom Lluis, connected through a lively courtyard. The interior design mirrors this duality by combining tradition and modernity.
The Role
This exciting General Manager position will be responsible for managing the hotel, Hotel Management team hotel targets to deliver an excellent Guest and Team Member experience while managing profitability and meeting our Owners expectations. The role will in time also develop into a Cluster General Manager in line with the opening of another two properties planned in 2026/27.
What will you be doing?
Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
· Manage and lead the hotel operation of the Curio and lead & implement the cluster set up and pre-opening & pathway for two hotels (Hampton & Canopy) planned to open during 2026/2027.
· Manage ongoing profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue, guest satisfaction and Team Member engagement goals are met and exceeded.
· Lead in all key property issues including capital projects, customer service, and refurbishment.
· Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotel and Hilton.
· Deliver achievable hotel budgets and set other short- and long- term strategic goals for the property.
· Provide exceptional leadership to hotel Team Members focusing on Hilton culture and values.
· Lead in all aspects of business planning.
· Comply with and exceed Hilton Brand Service Standards.
· Ensure costs are controlled.
· Manage and develop the Hotel Executive team to ensure career progression and effective succession planning within Hilton.
· Hold regular briefings and communication meetings with the HOD team.
· Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills with a strong focus on Owner relations, Commercial and Operations, guest experience and Team Member engagement. Enthusiastic and passionate, you will have current or previous experience as a General Manager within a similar quality hotel, across multiple brands and ideally with hotel openings experience.
A General Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
· An Established GM with Hilton experience, with a proven track record of delivering innovation to drive performance, ideally across multiple Hilton brands.
· Strategic mindset required to implement the Cluster set up and manage all internal/owner stakeholders to ensure brand positioning of the 3 different brands in the market to ultimately deliver savings and deliver on owner expectations.
· Exceptional stakeholder & owner relations experience with attention to detail is essential as is the ability to quickly establish credibility with the owner group.
· Deliver innovative commercial opportunities, ensuring optimum positioning of the Curio and upcoming new hotels (Hampton by Hilton & Canopy) during 2026/2027.
· Strong ability to collaborate and foster networks and relationships, with owners, contractors, corporates, and Tour Operators – must be highly visible in Lisbon to proactively network and ensure visibility of the properties.
· Exceptional people leadership and retention of talent with the ability to bring a team together on a journey and instilling the Hilton culture and values and bringing to life the three different brands.
· Experience of working in Southern European countries with an appreciation of the respective cultures and understanding how to best lead, manage and motivate teams in these countries would be an advantage.
· Ability to show resilience, judgement and leadership.
· Experience managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results in a similar sized property.
· In-depth knowledge of the hotel/leisure/service sector.
· Degree or diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent.
· English Mandatory with Portuguese language is preferred, not essential.
