Director of Leisure Sales

A Director of Leisure Sales manages the leisure segment of the hotel’s sales and marketing strategy by recommending targeted growth initiatives, monitoring performance, and ensuring the property is competitively positioned within the leisure travel marketplace.

What will I be doing?

As Director of Leisure Sales , you are responsible for working closely with the Senior Management Team to drive leisure segment revenue and expand relationships with key leisure partners and distribution channels. This role focuses on increasing business from individual travelers, OTAs, tour operators, travel consortia, and wholesale partners. You will also lead and develop a high-performing leisure sales team.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Develop and execute a comprehensive leisure sales and marketing plan that supports the overall business goals and is tailored to leisure market trends and seasonality.

· 
Identify and capitalize on opportunities to drive leisure bookings, including promotions, partnerships, and targeted campaigns.

· 
Build strong relationships with key accounts in the leisure segment including wholesale, OTA, retail travel agencies, luxury travel advisors, and tour operators.

· 
Negotiate and prepare leisure contracts in line with current pricing strategies and market demand.

· 
Monitor and optimize performance of leisure packages, promotions, and contracted accounts, adjusting strategy as needed in collaboration with Revenue Management.

· 
Represent the hotel in leisure-focused industry events, trade shows, and roadshows to increase exposure and drive demand.

· 
Work closely with the Revenue, Marketing, Reservations, and Front Office teams to ensure rate parity, promotional alignment, and exceptional guest experiences.

· 
Train, mentor, and lead the leisure sales team to ensure strong account management, client service, and proactive sales efforts.

· 
Analyze leisure market trends and competitor activity to ensure the hotel maintains a strong position and adjusts strategies proactively.

· 
Prepare monthly reporting on leisure segment performance, key initiatives, and ROI for senior management and ownership.

· 
Collaborate with marketing to ensure all leisure communications, digital presence, and sales tools reflect the property’s positioning and value proposition.

· 
Attend internal and external meetings as a key representative for leisure sales, contributing insights and strategies to overall hotel initiatives.

Ability to perform under pressure, including during high-demand periods or during frequent travel

Demonstrated experience in a leisure sales role with a track record of successfully managing key accounts and closing business

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following:

· 
Deep knowledge of the local and international leisure markets

· 
Familiarity with hospitality distribution channels such as OTAs, FITs, wholesale, and luxury consortia

· 
A passion for sales, relationship management, and target-driven performance

· 
A relevant degree in Sales, Business Development, Hospitality Management, or a related field from a recognized academic institution
