Job description

A Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while consistently contributing to departmental targets.

What will I be doing?

As a Cook, you are responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Cook will also be required to prepare all mis-en-place and contribute to departmental targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Prepare and platefood in a cost effective and efficient manner, including:

·  Foodprepared and served in accordance with recipes, photos and menus.
·  Prepares sauces, soups and hot entrees in accordance with menu.
·  Inspectfood before being served to guests to ensure consistent quality and guestdelivery.
·  Sets up for meals by ensuring proper amounts are in placefor forecast covers, special functions, and any reservations.
·  Ensuresconsistency in portion.
·  Asrequested, completes inventory and restocks.
·  Prepareswork checklist and/or completes work/shift checklist and organizes workstations for each shift.

Adheres tosafety and security standards, including:

·  Workarea and equipment is cleaned, maintained and organized.
·  Ensuringproper equipment operation.
·  Workingknowledge of local health/ sanitation, food storage and handling.
·  Followany internal, local health/ sanitation, guidelines/procedures to ensure foodand beverage safety for guests.
·  Ensurekitchen is readied for next shift.
·  Responsiblefor labeling and dating all items placed in walk and/or reach-ins.

Education and License/Certificates:

·         EPI diploma (Secondary Vocational Education, or equivalent in hospitality/culinary studies

·         Valid Aruba Health Card (Green Card)

Property Details:

Hilton Aruba is building on our legacy with the addition of the Westerly, a new beachfront tower, and Terrace on 10, The Westerly's adults-only rooftop lounge. Additional resort enhancements include upgrades to our rooms, public spaces, and restaurants and bars. These enhancements, including the opening of The Westerly, are anticipated to be complete by Late 2025.
