The Embassy Suites Los Angeles South and Embassy Suites Los Angeles Downey are currently hiring a Complex Senior Sales Manager. This role serves as the hotel representative to prospective clients and customers who need to rent rooms, meeting space, food and beverage service, etc. Responds to sales inquiries, initiates new sales, prospects and qualifies leads and solicits potential clients, entertains clients, conducts site visits and answers questions, determines rates, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, services accounts and analyzes lost business for the hotel/s. Develops sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals. Works with various departments to ensure requested services are provided to customers.
The annual salary range for this role is $80,000-$85,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
What will I be doing?
As a Complex Senior Sales Manager, you will be responsible for representing the hotels to prospective clients and customers who need to rent rooms, meeting space, food and beverage service, etc. Respond to sales inquiries, initiate new sales, prospect and qualifies leads and solicit potential clients, entertains clients, conduct site visits and answer questions, determine rates, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, service accounts and analyze lost business for the hotels. Develop sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals. Work with various departments to ensure requested services are provided to customers. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
· Represent hotel by soliciting, responding to and negotiating with persons requiring large and complex group accommodations, with or without meeting space and/or on-site (hotel) catering. Represents hotel in significant interactions dealing with customers relative to sales and operational questions, concerns, and issues. Negotiate contracts with customers and commission agreements with third party agencies.
· Initiate the preparation of proposals and/or contracts to advise prospective customers primarily of the hotel guest rooms, but also meeting space and/or banquet date, space and rate availability. Develop and quote prices for same.
· Engage in outside sales activities to discuss business opportunities and entertain customers in local and assigned markets (percentage of travel dependent on specific market). Direct site visits and H.O.S.T. programs for respective accounts and participates in tradeshows, industry and customer events.
· Attend weekly sales departmental meeting and other scheduled meetings to support business operations, e.g., tentative review, lost business review, group-pick up, etc.
· Conduct site inspections with potential customers, visiting guest rooms, meeting space and banquet facilities, as well as other hotel facilities.

In addition, we look for the demonstration of the following key attributes:
· Basic hotel product knowledge, i.e., staffing, operations, safety, security, structural, terminology, fire, police and health codes, hotel policies, city ordinance.
· Basic knowledge of the hotel structure/layout and how all departments interact.
· Basic knowledge of various types of set up styles used in the meeting rooms.
· Extensive knowledge of market and related meeting industry.
· Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
· Quantitative processing of data via office machine equipment. mathematical computations and analytical skills necessary to accurately determine and communicate financial, forecasting and space utilization calculations.
· Proficiency in the use and operation of computer systems with the ability to navigate efficiently through Word, Excel, Outlook, Delfi, OnQ.
· Ability to read, write and speak English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, proposals, general correspondence and similar written materials.
· Ability to complete a contract in compliance with all checklists, standards and hotel policies.
· Interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction.
