The Area Catering Sales Manager delivers exceptional, value-driven service that surpasses guest expectations, demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence and enthusiasm in every task. This role focuses on acquiring and managing corporate and social events, including weddings and non-profit events. Key responsibilities include maintaining relationships with current clients and pursuing new opportunities within the corporate and social event sectors to achieve financial goals for the hotels and yourself. The role also involves coordinating all sales activities related to these events with a warm turnover process to our seasoned and professional event services department. The ideal candidate should present a professional demeanor and possess a motivated, confident, and engaging personality. This position offers the flexibility to work from home one day per week, based on business requirements. Previous catering experience is desired, but not required.

In addition to the performance of key responsibilities, the Area Catering Sales Manager should possess a combination of the following experiences and skills:

·  High school diploma or equivalent required, Four-year college degree preferred, however, any combination of education and training within hotel sales and/or event planning may also be considered.
·  Previous experience in catering or sales is preferred.
·  Must demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effective, both verbally and in writing.
·  Prepare communication and presentations and other products through the use of Microsoft Office and industry relevant sales systems.
·  Basic mathematical skills that allow for calculation of minimums, room blocks, average rates, and forecast information.
·  Ability to work under time pressure, while exercising sound logic in evaluating situations and utilizing resources.
·  Ability to analyze needs of both the client and hotel and negotiate pricing.
·  Ability to travel. Reliable transportation required for weekly local outside sales calls and transportation between the three hotels.
·  Flexibility to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel, including evenings and weekends when needed.
·  Strong organizational skills, along with a proven ability to prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
·  Must be self-directed while accepting ongoing training and mentorship.
·  Willingness to assist in other areas of the hotel as business levels require.
