Job description

To execute repair & maintenance work in all areas of the hotel and support the delivery of happy@hampton guest experiences by living our Hilton values and demonstrating Hamptonality every day

What will I be doing?

Duties & Key Responsibilities

·         Execute duties as assigned by the Heart of House Manager, Maintenance Manager, Engineering Supervisor or General Manager

·         Be a reliable member of the Maintenance Team and a collaborative colleague whose passion for hosting and serving can be observed every day in all areas of the hotel.

·         Carry out assigned repair & maintenance tasks effectively & efficiently, to the required standard, and in line with our quality and service standards

·         Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment

·         Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and painting in all areas of the hotel

·         Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention to the Supervisor or Manager.

·         Contribute ideas to reduce waste, hotel operating costs, conserve energy and water

·         Be familiar with all applicable safety & security standards and follow them without any exception 

·         Pro-actively offer to help in operational departments should the business require it

·         Friendly greet guests and colleagues on corridors, in elevators, public areas and anticipate whether someone would like your help or assistance. React accordingly to provide a memorable happy@hampton moment.

·         Demonstrate willingness to upskill yourself in all maintenance disciplines such as AC, Electrical Work, Plumbing etc. and attend all trainings offered and conducted by your Supervisors and Managers

·         Be aware of planned maintenance team meetings/learning sessions and attend as required. Apply learning on the job, on the next day!

·         Able to read Building, Air-conditioning, Refrigeration and Electrical drawings

·         Able to fault find and repair air-conditioning, refrigeration and building control systems. Good electrical knowledge

·         Knowledge of BMS systems. - Experience of reciprocating Chillers and Air handling plant and cold rooms

·         Familiar with planned Preventive Maintenance and Safety programmes.

·         Flexible and team player – able to work on own initiative

·         Good understanding of water treatment techniques and able to handle chemicals

·         Makes periodic inspection tours to check all refrigeration equipment functioning properly

·         Carries out guest room maintenance according to schedule programme.

·         Works closely with electrician to carry out electrical work when required, including functions and parties

·         Daily refrigeration log sheet to be filled and temperature to be recorded

·         Works closely with peers to assist in their job when requested by supervisor

·         Keeps all necessary tools in good working condition, keep their working place neat and clean

·         Attains all departmental meetings and training classes

·         Perform the daily water testing task for pool, guest rooms and public area outlet

·         Be a role model for others in regards to passionate, friendly service to colleagues and guests, demonstrating Hamptonality!
