HVPD Ltd has an exciting opportunity, based in our head office in Manchester, UK (although global travel will be required), for a Test & Installation Engineer with experience in partial discharge testing.

The role would suit someone looking to work on technically interesting equipment, looking for high earning potential and who would enjoy travelling to countries across the world.
The role requires up to 40% working in the field, including overseas and offshore travel.
Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting On-line (& Off-line) Partial Discharge Testing (in addition to other condition based testing) at customer sites worldwide. Recognised as technically knowledgeable in partial discharge.
- Installing and commissioning HVPD sensor and plant monitoring solutions at a variety of global sites within Oil and Gas, Renewables and Utilities sectors.
- Provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, power quality analysis, installation, start-up, maintenance, repair and training.
- Interpret specifications and customer inquiries and design technical proposals for customers.
- Attend customer sites to assist sales visits and conducting specialised training for customers.
- Acting as an HVPD ambassador to trade organisations/conferences (i.e. IEEE, conferences) by presenting papers, case studies and demonstrating equipment.
- Mentorship and training of junior engineers and/or technicians.
- Developing designs and prototypes, assessing feasibility, determining whether existing equipment, components, and tools require modifications, and specifying modifications when necessary for various installation projects.
- Processing data collected by engineers on site jobs.
- Providing data analysis for customer reports.
- Supporting customer data service requirements; to provide telephone and email support to customers.
- Updating the HVPD Database.
Full training on our products and services will be provided.

Essential Requirements
The ideal candidate must have:
- A minimum of HND/ HNC in engineering subject or have worked in a similar field for over 5 years.
- Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment (ideally HV).
- Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
- Customer report / general presentation skills.
- Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability.
- Strong computer skills including report writing.
- Must be legally authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
