Job description

We are looking for two young (17-24) journalism students or bloggers/vloggers who want to gain experience writing reviews and articles for one of the world's leading online Hifi magazines.

Hifi Pig is not your average Hifi e-magazine and website. We are totally online and lead the world with Hifi news and reviews, music and gig reviews, a monthly e-mag, Hifi show reports and entertaining columns. We are far removed from the dusty traditional image of Hifi and audiophile publications, we pride ourselves on being different, inclusive and a little anarchic and we want to engage the younger generation in our audio and music obsessed world.

You will be, ideally, a journalism student or blogger/vlogger in the London area, although we are willing to look at applicants from other areas. You will have strong interests in music, tech/gadgets, fashion etc. Previous exposure to 'proper' Hifi and Headfi is desirable but not essential. Enthusiasm and a desire to be involved in the next generation of the Hifi industry and media is a must. A strong understanding of social media is a big plus. You will need to be able to write/present to a high standard, be engaging and entertaining and deliver articles/reviews on time. You would also need to be writing about Hifi exclusively for us and not be working with any of our competitors.

None of our reviewers are paid, they do it for the passion of getting to play with the best gear available. There are of course perks….if a manufacturer buys your review to use in their promotion then you get 50% of this, likewise if you commit to a monthly blog/vlog and we sell sponsorship on this, you get 50% of the sponsorship (usually in the region of £2 to 3k per year). Please note that any payment you receive is strictly on a freelance basis and you are responsible for paying your correct tax and NI as a self employed person.

There are also opportunities to attend events, products launches, gigs and shows for which we would be able to get you press passes/free tickets if you deliver a report on the event.

Take a look a and, if you like what you see and think that you have what it takes to join us, drop me a short piece on why you want to work with us and details of you interests and experience.
