HERE collects, processes and serves out mapping data and services that cover the globe. We are independently operated, and owned by a consortium including BMW, Audi and Daimler. HERE services and data are used by companies such as Amazon, Garmin, Bing, and numerous automotive companies. HERE is a diverse and inclusive workplace, with an international work-force.

HERE's Reality Capture & Processing (RCP) group is looking for a talented Dev Ops Engineer for its Capture Systems team. Capture Systems is the small, nimble group who write the software which captures reality (in pictures, GPS data and laser clouds) and the tools to manage that collection process. This software is installed on collection vehicles which are deployed around the world and managed in real-time.

Successful Dev Ops engineers will be masters of automation. Our team is frequently taking on new projects and new challenges, where limited resources make automated workflow essential. We have moved to Ansible for all of our deployment and management, away from Chef. We find it easier to use and get our developers involved in the process.

Building on AWS, you can expect to work on high throughput APIs, stream and batch processing systems. For this task, we use Apache Storm, Postgres, ElasticSearch, and Apache Spark to ingest and analyze an ever growing amount of real time data coming from the fleet.

The role makes use of this list of technologies:
·  Ansible – We are using Ansible for rapid deployment in a number of projects
·  Linux – Linux Gurus welcome! Ubuntu is our flavor
·  Jenkins – Our robot worker handles most of our tests and deployments
·  Python – Our preferred language for its speed of prototyping and easy to read nature.
·  Chef – Not our primary hammer but still maintained for legacy projects
·  Geoserver – Rapid API's and predictable geospatial operations over PostGIS.
·  ROS – The mechanism on our embedded platforms.
