What we offer

The Quality Lab Technician is responsible to ensure the quality, integrity, and safety of products for consumers by conducting chemical, statistical and microbiological testing and analysis and completing quality inspections on critical processes, incoming materials and finished goods to verify they conform to our pre-established standards.
· Conducts chemical and microbiological testing in the lab, which include but are not limited to, Karl Fisher, moisture, enzyme, color, odor, and appearance of finished material.
· Makes micro media and conducts total viable count (TVC) testing.
· Completes daily responsibilities by following pre-defined lab standard work.
· Assists with development, review, and enhancement of procedures used in the quality department and support of quality systems development throughout the plant.
· Conducts weekly and monthly instrument calibrations to ensure accurate and reproducible test results.
· Provides support to assigned areas of the plant, collaborates with team managers, leads, and associates on quality related issues, etc.
· Conducts quality checks on finished products, in process batches and raw materials to ensure conformance with quality standards
· Maintains accurate record keeping by documents test results and other required information in computerized and paper systems.
· Maintain sample storage system. Takes samples from in process batches. Retains and stores samples of all completed batches and for finished goods. Pulls samples as requested from retain system. Finding and reviewing retains during consumer or customer complaint investigations is an integral part of the position.
· Completes weekly critical to quality audits within assigned areas of the plant.
· Identifies areas for improvement (safety, cost and waste reduction, efficiency improvement, simplification, etc) which support short-term and long-term organizational goals. Utilizes appropriate analysis techniques to develop and support conclusions.
· Follows and enforces Safety and GMP requirements with the plant.
· Participates in root cause analysis. Applies problem solving methodology.
· Performs other work as assigned.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

What we are looking for
·  Associate’s Degree in a scientific discipline (chemistry, biology preferred). Bachelor's Degree highly desired.
·  ASQ certification or equivalent is highly desired.
·  Prior laboratory experience preferred.
·  Knowledge of all laboratory instrumentation, principles of operation, and calibration in the performance of materials and product testing.
·  Demonstrated skills in communication of quality methodology and problem solving.
·  Must be able to do math computations, calculations, and statistical analysis.
·  Proficient in the use of personal computers and systems, including the Microsoft Office suite.
·  Ability to quickly learn and use facility specific systems and databases.
·  Strong written and oral communication skills.
·  Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
·  Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time, shift is up to 12 hours.
·  Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
·  Must be able to climb on and around equipment, which includes bending, stooping, standing, walking, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
·  Must be able to see/hear to visually and audibly assess forklift traffic, acknowledge alarms, and perform inspections.
·  Must be able to take samples which includes reaching, pulling, gripping and applying varying degrees of force with hands and arms.
·  Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and 50 occasionally.
·  Must be able to don appropriate PPE such as: Hearing Protection, safety toe footwear, safety glasses, and Lab PPE.
