Major specifiers and Government specified users could obtain a reference to Harper Chalice’s products from the Home Office. Normal commercial users can obtain a reference to its specialist electronic perimeter security systems on the Police “Secured by Design” website. Harper Chalice Group’s products and systems are sold, installed and maintained worldwide via a network of specialist Accredited Dealers.

About the Role:
As a Junior Installation Engineer at Harper Chalice, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our senior installers in the installation and maintenance of electronic perimeter security systems. This is a hands-on role where you'll gain invaluable experience working on high-profile projects across the UK. You'll assist in ensuring that installations are carried out effectively, efficiently, and safely, all while adhering to our strict health & safety regulations.
 
Key responsibilities:
·       Installation & Maintenance: Assist in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of Harper Chalice perimeter security systems.
·       Project Support: Help supervise 3rd party contractors, ensuring work meets our high standards and project timelines.
·       Troubleshooting: Resolve on-site issues to keep projects on track, escalating unresolved problems to higher management.
·       Customer Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project.
·       Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all project activities, including work undertaken and any modifications requested by clients.
·       Communication: Keep the Harper Chalice office informed about project progress and any assistance needed, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
·       Tool & Equipment Management: Ensure all company-provided tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order, and manage van stock levels efficiently.
 
Weekly Responsibilities:
·       Accurately record working hours and submit timesheets promptly.
·       Report any incidents or delays to the Project Manager for timely action.
·       Prepare and hand over completed project documentation.
·       Conduct regular vehicle checks and maintain the cleanliness of the company van.
 
Monthly Responsibilities:
·       Assist with the preparation of project progress records.
·       Review training certificates and notify management of any upcoming expirations.
·       Inspect tools and equipment for damage, reporting any issues as needed.
·       Provide feedback on potential improvements to the installation process.
 
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
·       Completion of projects according to plan and within the allocated labour days.
·       Efficient management of van stock with minimal additional shipments required.
·       Identification and resolution of installation defects during the commissioning stage or thereafter.

Desired profile

Qualifications/Skills :
* Basic understanding of installation techniques ideally for electric fences and Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems
* Familiarity with the technical specifications and operational requirements
* Knowledge of safety and legal standards related to the installation and maintenance of security systems
* Experience with tools and equipment
* At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a similar role or relevant apprenticeship/training.
* Strong attention to detail with a focus on ensuring high-quality installations.
* Problem-solving mindset with a solution-oriented approach to technical challenges.
* Ability to work under supervision while gradually developing independence in tasks.
* Good communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with team members and supervisors.
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism on-site.
* Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to follow instructions and communicate effectively.

 
Hours of Work :
* 37.5 hours per week (9.00am to 5.00pm with 30 min lunch break, from Monday to Friday)
* Hybrid working
* UK wide travel with overnight hotel accommodation is required for role, attending sites and meetings
