Job description

Founded in 1866, Harlequins is a rugby club that is recognised around the world. Harlequins are currently ranked among the best Premiership rugby clubs in this country and Europe. The club is a founding member of the RFU and boasts more presidents than any other club as well as a healthy dose of international players.
Success on the pitch demands even more success off the pitch, and with a record number of supporters committing as Members this year, the Club is strengthening its Membership team and is currently recruiting a Membership Intern. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who wants to gain valuable experience in an elite sporting environment with strong supporter focus. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sport and what it means to be a fan.

Job Title: Membership Intern

Reporting to: Membership Manager
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday: 09:00 – 17:00 (some weekends may be required)
Duration: 6 month internship
Salary: £12,000 per annum
Start Date: Immediate start
Location: Twickenham Stoop Stadium
Closing Date: 12th August 2015
Role Purpose: To provide wide ranging support in the delivery of key strategic, supporter focused objectives

Key Accountabilities
• Support project management on a number of supporter related projects which drive membership loyalty and growth
• Research and support the development and rollout of innovative new initiatives which help grow membership reach and engagement
• Working with key teams such as Customer Experience, Commercial, Marketing and Operations
• Support fan engagement planning for 2015/16 season, including matchdays and events
• Deliver the Customer Experience match day communications plan
• General Customer Experience department administration

Skills and Knowledge
• Appreciates that projects need to be completed, methodical approach with an ability to work under pressure
• Good level of numeracy
• Builds appropriate professional, friendly and accessible relationships with employees and line managers, particularly with the Marketing and Ticketing departments
• Resilient and able to work in an organisation that is undergoing change due to development and growth
• Be able to communicate effectively at all levels
• Present a highly professional image when representing the Club
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Sufficient flexibility and willingness to take on roles outside normal functional responsibility when required.
Good I.T. skills and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
