Job description

Key Accountabilities

· Develop and adapt design for garments
· Prepare alterations both by needle and thread or sewing machine
· Liaise with clients to draw and alter individual pattern to fit customer's measurements and garment style
· Sew buttons and buttonholes when required
· Position pattern of garment on fabric, and cuts fabric along outlines, using scissors
· Measure customer for size, using tape measure and records measurements
· Fit basted garment on customer and mark alterations

Desired profile

Key Requirements

·  Previous experience working as a Seamstress, Tailor or Alterations Specialist for luxury high-end retailer or contemporary brand
·  Strong knowledge of fitting of garments on VIP clients
·  Deep understanding of all materials / fabrics, along with experience conducting alterations and amendments on complex garments
·  Fast paced and well organised
·  Fluency in English, other languages will be considered a plus
