Ware Manufacturing Site:
Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company's pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms, many of which are life saving medicines. A series of investments in new state-of-the-art equipment are being made that will support the delivery of a record number of new products. This must be achieved whilst consistently delivering outstanding quality, service and value to our patients.
Job Purpose:
The Warehouse Operator role is responsible for performing tasks associated with the movement of materials both into, within and onward from the GMS Ware site.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operators are expected to work in a minimum of two functional areas plus perform additional support roles within the department in accordance with team plan.
Functional Areas as follows: (1) Inbound, (2) Sampling, (3) Supply, (4) Outbound
(1) Inbound:
•To receive materials into the Ware site to ensure goods are available for supply and/or sampling. This includes material unloading from vehicles (via forklift), the checking of product quality, integrity and delivery documentation, entering deliveries onto the SAP IT system, labeling, identification sampling, designation of delivery location onto SAP, physical delivery to predetermined location e.g. warehouse racking, acid store, Ware Research and Development stores via appropriate fork truck/highracker/etc.
(2) Sampling:
•To perform physical sampling of starting and intermediate materials for onward supply to laboratories for quality control testing. Involves operating laboratory sampling equipment (e.g. pipettes, Handheld Raman Spectroscopy identity scanner) and sampling facility operation (use of temperature controlled down flow booth with full Personal Protective Equipment [PPE]), performing sampling in accordance with sampling requirements (from which sampling regime calculated), sampling equipment and facility cleaning, completion of production equipment logs and sampling documentation.
(3) Supply:
•To supply materials to and from the Ware production centres in support of the production of finished packs. This includes picking a variety of materials to order (e.g. Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, excipients, intermediates, assembly plastic components and packaging components such as cardboard containers, leaflets, labels) from allocated locations via highracker fork truck. Collated materials are prepared for internal orders, completion of SAP IT transactions, physical transfer of goods to production areas via fork lift truck, conveyer bridge system.
(4) Outbound:
•To dispatch materials from the Ware site for onward supply to customers via logistics service providers. This includes picking finished pack from allocated locations to customer order, checking products, assembling, packing and labeling orders to customer and market requirements (e.g. temperature requirements, dangerous goods regulations), material loading on temp controlled vehicles. Completion of Outbound documentation and SAP IT transactions. Processing of product returns from market.
(5) All Warehouse Operators
•To contribute to meeting objectives (departmental, site and company-wide) in safety, quality, customer service and cost
•To operate warehouse mechanical handling equipment (MHE), e.g., highracker, counterbalance and ride-on pedestrian trucks as appropriate, in accordance with established safety procedures
•To utilise SAP (Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing) during material movements to follow -businesses processes and thus maintain stock control
•To perform all equipment checks to ensure the safe operation of equipment. To ensure direct working area is audit ready and compliant at all times in line with GSK policies and procedures, legal requirements and regulations e.g., health and safety at work, aviation security
•To complete both electronic and paperwork documentation in an accurate and timely manner to meet internal and external customer requirements and deadlines
•To carry out all cleaning activities specified in area SOPs and standard work
•To work flexibly in accordance with functional area schedules which are subject to changes in demand and priorities
•To perform additional support roles within the Warehouse department, as agreed with the individual's manager in accordance with the Warehouse team plan
Additional support roles in the Warehouse department are:
1)Safety Assessor (noise, ergonomics, manual handling, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health [COSHH], dangerous goods)
2)Author/content owner (SOP and/or Standard Work)
3)QMS reviewer

Desired profile
Basic qualifications:
Candidates will be required to participate in GSK standard numeracy and literacy testing (Operator Assessment Kit OAK's).
Preferred qualifications:
GCSE Mathematics and English or equivalent
