Job description
Basic qualifications:
Higher degree in life sciences: PhD, MSc or MPH, MD, MBBS, MPharm, PharmD AND/OR
other professional healthcare provision qualification with experience (e.g. pharmacist) AND/OR
a significant (>3 years) amount of pharmaceutical industry experience in a role successfully engaging in scientific exchange with external experts.
Solid grounding in clinical, medical and pharmaceutical science with the ability to rapidly assimilate specific and detailed knowledge in these areas.
Experience in evaluating and effectively communicating evidence-based medicine.

We are currently recruiting for an Medical Science Liaison to join our Vaccines team on a full time basis for an initial 6 month contract (with possibility to extend). This opportunity is available to commence immediately.
Reporting to a Medical Director - Vaccines, this role is centred around engaging and building strong links with external experts (EEs) through developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of Vaccines, and communicating and discussing both the depth of science behind GSK's medicines and the brand strategies. Working as part of a complex portfolio, you will be responsible for the Travel Medicines and Adult/Adolescent Vaccines portfolio.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
• Gathering external clinical insight and enabling this insight to be incorporated in GSK work
• Maintain a detailed understanding of the therapy area and a deep appreciation of the science and evidence for GSK medicines and other non-GSK treatment options with a focus on Vaccines
• Act as the interface between the professional healthcare community and the internal GSK medical team and its affiliates providing value-added insights and feedback from the community designed to improve medical, commercial and drug development planning and service provision.
Gathering external clinical insight and enabling this insight to be incorporated in GSK work
• Responding to specific, unsolicited information requests
• Communicating important safety information
• Supporting scientific research and clinical studies
• Planning, conducting and participating in scientific meetings
• Proactively disseminate knowledge and share information as appropriate, including through internal and external presentations.
In order to be successful in the role, you will be PhD qualified in immunology/virology/epidemiology or similar field. You will have a strong interest in public health and your passion will be Vaccines. Through your experience, you will have demonstrated the ability to engage with key local and global experts within the Vaccines field and have built a strong network of external experts. With a passion for making a difference through public health initiatives, you enjoy presenting at symposiums and being an advocate for robust scientific discussions.
