As one of our Utilities Engineers, your job is to ensure our critical utilities operations are safe, comply to the highest quality standards and are lean and efficient.

Day to day you will provide professional technical expertise and advice on utilities plant and equipment to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations. This will include generation of innovative and creative engineering solutions, drive continuous improvement, safety, compliance and capital projects. You will also assist in the training and assessment of personnel within the department, validation of new and existing equipment and processes, co-ordinate and manage project activity.

You will be joining a professional, dedicated and dynamic team and this role is critical role to supporting production at our Worthing manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities of the job:
• Primary contact for technical support to utilities.
• Responsible for ensuring the utilities operations meet all statutory requirements and are carried out within the company safety, environmental and GMP requirements.
• Project management and ownership of revenue utility projects through to benefit delivery
• Act as the client engineer for capital projects on utilities equipment.
• Develop maintenance and replacement strategies for utilities to ensure security of supply and minimise operating costs.
• Appointed person for L8.
• Data trending/analysis of utility equipment data to proactively identify and resolve issues before developing into serious problems
• Monitor new technologies and input to site strategy to ensure timely exploitation
• Ownership and implementation of applicable GSK standards relating to utilities generation and supply and effluent treatment.
• Develop and deliver ongoing training to site staff regarding utilities equipment and hazads
• Generation of technical reports and documentation
• Provide support for regulatory audits
• Technical Liaison Engineer role for capital projects as directed
• Generate knowledge guides and maintain appropriate library documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements
• Identifying and specifying technical training requirements for utility operation and maintenance staff including SOP list
• Co-ordination with FM and responsibility for technical aspects of fire prevention systems
• Technical approval of service reports
• Carrying out safety assessments for modifications to utilities equipment
• Write, revise and approve technical SOPs related to utilities equipment and mechanical engineering practice.
• Management of additional consultant/contractor resource as required

Desired profile
Basic qualifications:
What work related skills & experience do I need?
• HNC or relevant transferable experience and application
• Experience working within a GMP or highly regulated environment
• Detailed understanding of Mechanical systems - EG Boilers; Air Compressors; Refrigeration
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work openly and effectively within your own team and other teams to deliver business goals
• A Continuous Improvement mindset
• Sound competence in key computer packages - EG Microsoft Excel
• Experienced in issuing Permits; Engineering modification assessments; Controlling work of internal resources and external contractors
Preferred qualifications:

• Degree level qualification
• Minimum greenbelt in Lean-Sigma or willingness to train
