Details:
The Transportation Supervisor supports transportation strategy and executes all tactical aspects of transportation operations for GSK Consumer Health in the United States including carrier management, budget development support, 3PL management, and service level achievement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supports the development and administration of the transportation budget, monthly freight accrual processes and related reporting requirements and maintains all system attributes that contribute to these functions (Freight Database & TMS).
• Ensure external operational relationships (Carriers, 3rd Party Service Providers, Cargo Security Provider) deliver a high level of performance relative to EDI compliance, on-time delivery, tender acceptance, freight payment accuracy and cargo security execution.
• Oversees all functions at GSK's Transportation Operations Center (TOC) including personnel development and training, SOP development, and implementation, goal and objective setting and work-stream development.
• Supports development and implementation of cost savings initiatives to reduce overall freight expenditures
• Oversees daily order management and execution with accountability to internal stakeholders and process customers.
• Directs all functions associated with 3rd party security provider including Identifying and implementation of procedures to ensure cargo security throughout the supply chain.
• Ensures compliance with all internal and external requirements.
• Maintains awareness of industry related supply chain trends and best practices that create a competitive advantage or drive business efficiency.
• Establish and report Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and develop scorecard programs for carriers to measure performance objectively.
• Supports Business Initiatives – Product Launches, Projects, and cross functional efforts to continuously improve service to customers.

Desired profile

Basic qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree or high school diploma with equivalent experience
• 2-3 years of experience with transportation management, distribution center (warehouse) management and customer supply chain management

Preferred qualifications:
• Bachelors or Masters in Supply Chain Management/Business Administration
• Experience with Transportation Management Software, particularly RedPrarie
• Experience managing others
