Purpose
The Data Analyst is responsible for analytics support for the wide diversity of projects during routine commercial manufacturing for improving processes and solving problems. He/she will be an accountable partner of project teams, manage key stakeholders in the organization in providing analytics support to MSAT and to the site. He/she will be responsible to develop analytics models which will be applied in a wide variety of business cases and typically have strong business impact.
As part of the Statistics and Data Science team within MSAT, he/she will be responsible to support the Statistician / Data Scientist to the continuously develop the analytics capabilities of the MSAT team and for the Site. He/she will coordinate transversally within the MSAT department and across the departments to deliver the different analytics projects driven from MSAT and from this site where applicable.
He/she works closely with other MSAT Product Experts, MSAT Product Stewards, MSAT Engineers and MSAT Scientists, Production Engineers, QC Specialists, Safety, Regulatory, Statisticians and other related disciplines.
The Statistical Data Analyst reports to MSAT Biostatistics and Data Science Lead.
Key Responsibilities Area
· Data Analytics:
·
Support projects that require advanced analytics on both ad-hoc and systematic basis to gain data-driven process understanding and improvement
·
Identify new opportunities for application of innovative analytics approaches throughout the MSAT organization, by establishing close and productive relationships across the department
·
Provide input on study processes, especially those affecting scientific integrity and data quality.
·
Contribute, as a member of a multi-discipline team, to the design of an efficient process development program / analytical development program and a robust registration package. Prepare independent reports or statistical / data-analytics sections of Continued Process verification and process development study reports.
·
Deliver scientific excellence in analytics expertise to non-clinical vaccine development ensuring decision-making takes place within the parameters set by logical and quantitative scientific inference.
·
Provide internal analytics support and expertise in close interaction with the MSAT Product Expert, MSAT Product Steward, MSAT IM Expert, MSAT Engineers and MSAT Scientists, Production engineers as well as other related disciplines such as QC Chemists, QC Biologists and QC Specialists.

Develop analytics methods and scripts for the design and analysis of experiences supporting process development (CPV), process improvement and problem-solving.
·
Communicate and share results and conclusions with people that may or may not be familiar with data analytics. Communicate complex designs/concepts to general audiences in an efficient and effective manner.

Provide analytics consultancy and training to staffs as needed.
·
Deeply involve in the continuous development of data science expertise and improvement of the quality and compliance of the support given by the team.
·
Create and foster collaborations with external data analytics groups (both industry and academia) in order to promote data analytics innovation within GSK and across the pharmaceutical industry.
·
Perform validation/review of data analyses conducted by peers or colleagues.
·
Provide accurate and timely answers to routine questions from Regulatory Authorities, scientific insight when answering non-standard questions, and independently pursues analyses suggested by the data.

Support, promote and participate in site’s safety and wellness initiatives. Be a role model when appointed as a EHS Committee member, advocate and display safe behaviour and mindset at all times.

Contribute and support EHS training activities aligned with Site vision and goals.
·
Use PPEs correctly while working and follow the safety training and safety instructions and health rules and regulations.
·
Contribute to the establishment of an active workplace safety. Be continuously on the lookout for anything that could lead to an accident. Be aware of the behaviour of colleagues, too.
·
Make daily safety inspections, provide input and feedback. about safety problems and solutions.
·
Report all near miss accidents, dangerous occurrences, or unsafe situations.
·
Participate in enforcement inspections.
·
Comply with all applicable safety standards.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
·
A good bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Data Science
·
Strong statistics, data science and programming skills in R, Python, SQL, PowerBI
·
Familiarity with a wide range of data analytics applications from data collection, data cleaning, data processing to machine-learning model selection and deployment
·
Strong communication skills (oral & written)
·
Strong networking skills
·
Good project management and facilitation skills
·
Knowledge of drug development process and regulatory requirements, including ICH/GCP guidelines and GMP requirements
·
Experience in applying innovative data-driven thinking
