Ware Manufacturing Site:
Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company's pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms, many of which are life saving medicines. A series of investments in new state-of-the-art equipment are being made that will support the delivery of a record number of new products. This must be achieved whilst consistently delivering outstanding quality, service and value to our patients.

Job Purpose:
Site Engineers are responsible for leading and developing Plant and/or Equipment and/or Process understanding across the Ware Site and to manage engineers, contractors, suppliers & consultants to efficiently deliver a range of associated activities to agreed levels of quality, cost, time and tangible benefit. This includes all tasks, systems, data and information flow required for the process/system/equipment to succeed and remain compliant.

The Site Electrical Engineer must maintain and operate a safe and reliable High Voltage (HV) & Low Voltage (LV) electrical distribution system for site including building control systems, fire detection system and intruder protection system for the Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) site.

The successful candidate will be accountable for:
• The implementation of, and contribution to, the innovative development of the capability of manufacturing plant/equipment in conjunction with offsite GSK groups and suppliers/consultants.
• Providing technical expertise, as required, overcoming technical issues and facilitating the dissemination and adoption of best practice for technology and manufacturing equipment/plant/processes both in use and under development.
• Ensuring all activities and outcomes meet mandated standards of compliance, governance, GMP, EHS. This includes the work of contractors and vendors working under the jobholder's instruction, guidance and/or authority.
• Managing and reporting financial data necessary for the governance of projects.

As the Site Electrical Engineer you must:
• Be capable of working on a number of different projects and activities simultaneously (typically between 20 plus) in varying degrees of detail.
• Be able to assimilate changing business circumstances that require changes to work prioritisation.
• Be both an expert in Electrical Systems, being able to deliver breadth through engineering projects, and exercise leadership attributes.
• Be able to effectively communicate complex and technical information and influence stakeholders and technical staff.

Desired profile

Basic qualifications:
BEng Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with a broad technical/scientific skills base. Masters in Engineering and Chartered Engineer with IET preferred.
Professionally registered engineer or working towards registration with IET/CIBSE (CENG).
Must have knowledge of electrical distribution and high voltage distribution.

Preferred qualifications:
• Extensive knowledge of Regulatory Requirements (Safety and Quality) relative to the defined process
• Experience in change management methodology
• Exceptional influencing, leadership and decision making capabilities
• Knowledge of historical, current and anticipated manufacturing plant and equipment. The job holder will have sufficient scientific and engineering credibility to effectively interface with and influence key stakeholders, internal and external and through 360 deg.
• Broad knowledge of professional engineering environment, associated disciplines, and commercial awareness.
• Demonstrated project management competency/expertise.
• Understanding of basic OE and leadership principles
