Are you energized by the opportunity to enhance your leadership skills and accelerate business performance across manufacturing operations? If so, this Senior Operational Excellence Practitioner role could be an exciting opportunity to explore.
As a Senior Operational Excellence Practitioner partner with internal customers to drive the Continuous Improvement (CI) Culture on the site to Deliver Sustainable Business Performance using lean six sigma principles. This includes driving performance results through visual management, the relentless elimination of non-value-added activities (waste) and reducing variation and variability across the sites manufacturing, supply chain, lab and technical services departments. This role is responsible for training and coaching associates on lean and six sigma methods and tools.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
· Drive the continued deployment of Lean Six Sigma Ecosystem and oversee the site maturity utilizing the GSK Production System (GPS).
· Design Visual Process and Performance Management Tier Boards and develop tools to help teams gather and report site KPIs.
· Design, plan and lead effective, efficient meetings and workshops to train cross functional teams and deploy Process and Performance Management Tier Boards, Value Stream Mapping, Operator and Leader Standard Work, Structured Problem Solving and other Lean Six Sigma concepts and practices
· Lead Kaizens to facilitate rapid process improvement and influence teams to commit to and deliver results.
· Proactively identify and drive continuous improvement and value creation projects using Gemba’s, data collection and data analysis to deliver process simplification and optimization.
· Facilitate rapid response problem solving sessions using DMAIC method to identify the true root cause and corrective actions.
· Provide training and coaching to build site CI capabilities at different Lean Six Sigma expertise levels in line with the Site Masterplan.
· Partner with customers to apply, adapt and develop advanced, expert Lean Six Sigma methods and tools to drive initiatives that will increase utilization, reduce waste, improve profitability, and improve general ways of working.
· Perform statistical data analysis
· Employ Benchmarking techniques, both within and outside GSK, to leverage good practice, share knowledge, and deploy best known methods, as appropriate.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
· BS/BA in biological or chemical sciences, business, engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
· Green belt certification
· Minimum of 5 years successfully driving continuous improvement and lean six sigma initiatives in an automated manufacturing environment
· Minimum 5 years coaching green and yellow belts
· 5 years' DOE and statistical analysis using software packages such as MiniTab JMP or Statisica
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
· Black Belt certification preferred
· Demonstrated familiarity and compliance with cGMP's, EHS procedures and regulations, facility regulatory guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
· Proficient with MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
· Proficient in mathematics and statistics including the use of statistical software packages.
· Knowledge of Statistical Process Control / Quality Engineering preferred.
· Ability to make oral group presentations and facilitate team discussions to include persuading others, providing information, explaining concepts, adopting Lean-Six Sigma principles or actions and delivering business cases.
· Ability to lead complex problem solving / root cause analysis sessions to accurately identify patterns, relationships and formulate logical and objective conclusions adhering to DMAIC methodologies.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in order to achieve deliverables and adhere to timelines and budgets.
· Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
· The ability to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear, compelling way.
· Ability to persuade and influence functional area leaders and staff in order to drive change.
· Able to interact in multidisciplinary environment including engineering, facility operations, validation, production and QC\QA.
· Ability to work across functional disciplines.
· Sense of urgency, flexibility and accountability.
· Must be a committed team player prepared to work in and embrace the Value Stream culture.
· Ability to follow written procedures and document results in a neat and precise manner.
· Maintain attention to detail, while completing multiple or repetitive tasks.
· Demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines.
