Barnard Castle is a beautiful market town in Teesdale, County Durham, England and is a popular tourist destination. The town is home to the Bowes Museum that houses the best collection of European fine and decorative arts in the North of England, a haven for discerning shoppers and treasure seekers, the town's many antique shops provide a charming shopping experience, if you are a lover of the great outdoors there are walking and cycling opportunities galore, allowing you to experience the beauty of the surrounding countryside.

If you are a food lover, locally produced food can be found at the monthly farmers' market and the restaurants, cafés and pubs all serve good quality home-made food with local produce at the forefront of their menus.

We are Barnard Castle's largest single employer and are based on the outskirts of this beautiful town.

The site is a key member of the Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) organisation producing some of the world's leading dermatological, sterile, inhaled and oral medicines for a wide range of diseases including MRSA, leukaemia and HIV.

What would my key responsibilities be?
Prioritises and provides an effective, compliant document review for the Product Release Service
to ensures that all products released for sale or further processing are of a quality appropriate to
their intended use i.e. comply with Company GMP standards and Product Quality Specifications.

Processes documents and e- documents such that the correct documents are in the batch files and
electronic systems and all information and documents are stored /archived correctly.

Provides timely response to production area on quality concerns

Ensures that the QP/Quality Manager and relevant Production Stream Management are notified
of any deviations from GMP, which may have significant effect on product quality.

Provides GMP advice as required on an on-going basis.

Works safely, with regard to self and others, immediately notifies any safety concerns

What are the pay & benefits?
PAY - We will reward your contributions to GSKs success through your salary, bonus or sales incentives, and recognition awards.

Competitive Base Salary – Your salary is paid monthly on the 20th day of the month (or nearest business day) It is reviewed each year to ensure it stays competitive and reflects your performance and contribution to GSK's strategy.

Annual Target Bonus – Your individual performance is worth 60% if your total bonus and is based on the achievement of your personal objectives. The high level results of your business area is worth 40% of your total bonus.

SHARES & SAVINGS – Gives you a stake in GSK's success and helps you save for the future, in partnership with GSK.

Share Reward – Share reward allows you to invest up to 5% (maximum of £125)of your salary each month in GSK shares and receive a free share for every share you buy.

Share Save – Share Save is designed to help you save for the medium term, by giving you the opportunity to buy discounted GSK shares at the end of a three year savings period.

GSK Pension Plan – You automatically become a member of the GSK pension plan when you join GSK. An account is opened in your name and GSK contributes a core amount of 7% of your pensionable salary into your account each month. You are also required to make a contribution of 2%, GSK will match any contributions you make up to a maximum of 3% of your pensionable salary (total contributions up to 15%)

Holidays – You are entitled to 26-days paid personal holiday each year (increasing to 27 days after 5yrs and 28days after 10yrs service) plus eight paid public holidays.

Basic qualifications:

What skills & experience do I need to apply?
You will have an in-depth knowledge of cGMP and regulations

You will be diligent with demonstrated attention to detail and prior experience in document review

You will have demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with colleagues across business units and be confident in your decision making ability.

Eligibility:
You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Shift Work - this is a shift based role so you must be able and willing to work the following:
3 day 12 hour shift alternating days/nights alternate weeks

Week 1 Friday 06.00-18.00 Saturday 06.00-18.00, Sunday 06.00-18.00,

Week 2 Friday 18.00-06.00, Saturday 18.00-06.00, Sunday 18.00-06.00

Preferred qualifications:

What else will benefit me in this role?
A bachelor Science degree (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Microbiology), or equivalent.

Previous QA Experience in pharmaceutical industry (or closely related regulated industry ) (Note
experience in sterile manufacturing would be a bonus.)
