To help enable us to manage the planned increase in activity on site, we are looking to appoint a number of high-calibre individuals into key roles in Manufacturing, Filling and Packaging.
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in these areas and / or steriles/tablets.
As one of our flexible production operators, you'll be preparing and operating a range of semi-automatic and fully-automatic machinery involved in the manufacturing, filling, inspection or packaging of the medicines we produce.
As part of a team, you'll play a key role in ensuring our patients receive medicines that are safe, therefore your attention to detail and focus on quality is essential.

What will my key responsibilities be?
- You will act in a safe manner at all times (in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, and all other relevant legislation), and to use the GSK safety reporting systems to highlight potential hazards.
- You will act at all times in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), as defined in the Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Distributors (‘Orange Guide') and report any adverse issues.
- You will follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work (SW), for which training will be given.
- You will work as a flexible and motivated member of a team.
- You will stay up-to-date with all training requirements (both ‘classroom' courses and computer-based online ‘MyLearning' activities) as identified through training plans.
- You will take part in ‘continuous improvement' (CI) activities to highlight improvements to equipment and processes.
- You will demonstrate a good level of teamwork & communication, a proactive approach and good planning and organisational skills.

These roles will be distributed across a variety of shift patterns so flexibility to work shifts is essential.
Salaries for Production Operator Roles start at c£24,500. There will also be shift allowance in addition to your base salary.

What are the pay & benefits?
PAY - We will reward your contributions to GSKs success through your salary, bonus or sales incentives, and recognition awards.
Competitive Base Salary (c£24,500, plus shift allowance) - Your salary is paid monthly on the 20th day of the month (or nearest business day) It is reviewed each year to ensure it stays competitive and reflects your performance and contribution to GSK's strategy.
6% Annual Target Bonus – Your individual performance is worth 60% of your total bonus and is based on the achievement of your personal objectives. The high level results of your business area is worth 40% of your total bonus.
SHARES & SAVINGS – Gives you a stake in GSK's success and helps you save for the future, in partnership with GSK.
Share Reward – Share reward allows you to invest up to 5% (maximum of £125)of your salary each month in GSK shares and receive a free share for every share you buy.
Share Save – Share Save is designed to help you save for the medium term, by giving you the opportunity to buy discounted GSK shares at the end of a three year savings period.
GSK Pension Plan – You automatically become a member of the GSK pension plan when you join GSK. An account is opened in your name and GSK contributes a core amount of 7% of your pensionable salary into your account each month. You are also required to make a contribution of 2%, GSK will match any contributions you make up to a maximum of 3% of your pensionable salary (total contributions up to 15%)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS - ALL ROLES
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (to include Mathematics and English) all at grade C or above (or equivalent)
Following the initial application screening, successful candidates will be required to complete online SHL tests in numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning and checking skills, to the level expected by GSK.
ESSENTIAL STERILES BUSINESS AREA REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience within pharmaceutical or another highly regulated industry is essential
- Understanding of GMP Requirements
Preferred qualifications:
PREFERRED STERILES BUSINESS AREA REQUIREMENTS
- Aseptic Area Entry Licence or Clean Room Licence
- Experience working in MERPS or SAP
PREFERRED CEPHALOSPORIN'S BUSINESS AREA REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience within pharmaceutical or another highly regulated industry
- Understanding of GMP Requirements
Preferred requirements for Cephs Packaging Role:
- Experience in packaging of tablet solid dose form
- Experience in the operation of associated line equipment i.e. M92, cartonner, stretch bander and case packer
Preferred requirements for Cephs Manufacturing Role:
- Experience in dry compaction and compression tablet manufacture
- Use of tablet coater equipment
- Dispensing and loading of manufacturing materials, including API and excipients
