In addition, we are a leader in the important area of dermatologicals and are developing new treatments that will provide a continuum of care for skin health with both pharma and consumer products.

The state of the art Barnard Castle manufacturing facility is a key part of the GSK manufacturing organisation providing manufacture, fill and pack capability for a variety of dermatological products (creams, gels and ointments).

An exciting technical based opportunity has arisen for fixed term contract Process Technologists to work within the New Product Introduction & Process Technology (NPI-PT) department supporting Dermatological products at GSK Barnard Castle.

These new opportunities within the technical organisation are tasked with the manufacture support and troubleshooting of existing drug products as well as New Product Introduction (NPI). You will develop, execute and complete technical and NPI projects, resolve drug product related production and laboratory issues and look to continuously improve existing processes.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Being accountable for the delivery of NPI's, Process Improvements, Cost Reduction and resolution of Day to Day technical issues
• To deliver major step change improvements to processes to deliver business benefit
• To represent the function and support audits with internal & external regulatory bodies
• Lead technical investigations and risk assessments to develop and implement robust CAPAs for Dermatological products

You should also be able to demonstrate the following
• An ability to manage concurrent projects to tight timescales, both independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
• An enthusiastic approach to pharmaceutical process development and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, in a clear and accurate manner.
• An awareness of operational excellence tools for problem solving, decision-making or to improve product/production performance.
• Appreciation of Safety and Quality requirements and good working knowledge of GMP

Desired profile

Basic qualifications:

Ideally you should be educated to a minimum of degree level (BSc or equivalent) in a related scientific or technical discipline, such as chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacy or biological science(s)
You should have theoretical knowledge and practical hands on experience of Dermatologicals product manufacturing
