An great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical nurse to join our Occupational health team based in Hertfordshire. You with be RGN qualified and be NMC registered with a desire to implement creative direction within this newly created position.

Job details are as follows;

• Responsible for delivering a high quality, evidence based, customer focused OH service across the designated UK GSK sites/region meeting business needs in all aspects of our Occupational Health service provision.

• To plan and carry out Health Surveillance, Health Capability Assessments, immunizations and deliver Business Travel services under the direction of the Occupational Health Manager whilst having the ability to work autonomously and act within the policy and procedures of the service.

• To apply specialist knowledge in the key areas of health surveillance, health capability assessments, immunization and phlebotomy and make sound clinical decisions and consult effectively with all customers.

• Work collaboratively with Herts and Essex OH team and other members of the UK OH service team, (as well as the wider Health & Wellbeing team and other key stakeholders), to enhance performance through innovation, performance & trust.

Work with the Occupational Health Manager in the planning, management and delivery of business travel clinics, health surveillance programmes, employment health capability assessments, following UK OH process and procedures and maintaining accurate and up to date clinical records.

• Work closely with the Occupational Health Technician in the delivery of health surveillance programmes across the region and health capability assessments using both face-to-face and telephone skills and associated health interview techniques.

• To be responsible for and to maintain clinical stock supplies. To ensure safe storage, preparation and administration of vaccines in accordance with OH department procedures, policies and national guidance.

• To be responsible for the safe use and maintenance of all equipment used within the clinical setting.

• To understand first aid delivery arrangements on sites. To work closely with the Occupational Health Technician to support First Aid processes on sites in line with company process and UK guidelines.

• To work closely with the Occupational Health Hub/Gatekeeper service to support the management of general occupational health queries.

• To be able to assess and review notifications of incident or injury and escalate accordingly to the Occupational Health Nurse Specialist(s).

• To attend relevant meetings and participate in department working groups as and when required.

• Solution focused approach to assessing and understanding the needs of customers and work with the Occupational Health team to support the Health and Wellbeing agenda, including the energy and resilience portfolio. Participate and support the planning and delivery of health promotion activities.

• To take personal responsibility for ongoing professional development. To utilize training/other opportunities to develop knowledge and relevant skills.

Basic qualifications:
Registered Nurse with the NMC
Worked in a similar or related clinical setting.
Clinical Nursing experience
Good IT skills.

Preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of travel medicine
Training with audiometry, spirometry and Travel medicine.
Occupational Health qualification
