GSK is currently looking for a Materials Technician to join our team in Rockville, MD. In this role, the Materials Technician will be performing manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies within a cGMP warehouse.
Key responsibilities:
· General
· Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks to move stock or organize materials
· Follows the SOPs to perform daily assigned tasks
· Recognizes, understands and reports to management any critical equipment alarms
· Shipping and Receiving
· Performs receipt and quarantine of incoming cGMP raw materials in SAP per quality and safety requirements
· Performs non-GMP delivery duties as assigned
· Follows DOT requirements for transport of materials
· Inventory Control
· Ensures inventory levels remain accurate in SAP and perform periodic inventory checks and cycle counts
· Executes W&D schedule of controlled raw materials for on time delivery
· to manufacturing
· Executes the delivery of direct materials’ Transfer Orders (TOs) to the required Production Supply Areas (PSAs)
· Participates in bulk drug freeze down procedures including use of controlled rate freezing equipment
· Follows DOT requirements for transport of materials

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
· High School Diploma/GED
· Warehouse and material handling experience
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
· Forklift experience
· Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
· Physical requirements including stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting up to 50lbs.
· Position may require employees to work shifts, holidays, weekends, and over-time.
· Basic computer literacy; Excel and Word.
· Good reading, writing and communication skills.
