The Machinery Safety Engineer works in partnership with the Consumer manufacturing site to provides project management, technical support and training to the Lincoln site with a key focus on the implementation and sustainability of GES 110 Machinery Safety/Guarding for “Zero Access”, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and supporting the GMS implementation of Global EHS Standards on Equipment Safety. Executes projects with Machinery safety focus.

Reports to Engineering Compliance Lead.

Establish & Facilitate an ongoing Machinery Safety program and implement future program improvements at Lincoln and act as a point of contact for Machinery Safety Engineering issues

Provide technical support on the integration of Machinery Safety methodologies into new and existing Lincoln site processes and equipment

Provide support and guidance to the Lincoln Engineering and regional EHS groups on all aspects of Machinery Safety

Develop, mentor and coach site, facilitating knowledge management at Lincoln on Machinery Safety.

Identify common Machinery Safety challenges, gaps and problems, and manage the development of solutions

Support Factory Acceptance Tests as needed for equipment manufactures.

Manage external contract resources (contract Engineers) including initiating requests for, creating SOWs, onboarding, budgeting, etc

Deliver compliant technical projects to scope, cost, timing and performance expectations utilizing GSK tools and resources

Desired profile

Basic qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferably in mechanical or machine safety specialty) or safety field.
Proven technical knowledge and experience of manufacturing plant production / projects with broad experience in these areas
• Knowledge of relevant EHS regulatory requirements
• Experience managing external contract resources (contract Engineers)
• Ability to deliver compliant technical projects to scope, cost, timing and performance expectations

Preferred qualifications:

• Listening skills, analytical ability to diagnose problems, resolve conflict, and develop practical solutions
• Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and presentation; able to interact with and influence all levels of individuals across a variety of organizations.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
