Job Purpose
The Business Partner (BP) is accountable to the Business for all IT services relating to the respective business processes and to develop IT strategy aligned to business strategies and prioritizing IT project portfolio to drive business value at optimal cost.
The BP is accountable for the applications owned by their business unit and to manage the application lifecycle. To collaborate with other BPs at enterprise level to ensure the optimal portfolio of applications exists to support the Business Process for GSK.
The role will be aligned to a cluster of Product Development sub-processes:
Pack Artwork Management, Packaging Specification Management, New Product Introduction (NPI), Packaging Lifecycle Management, Product Portfolio Management
Key Responsibilities
The BP will operate at two levels: at enterprise level and within a specific BU IT organization.
At Enterprise level: Success will be measured by overall simplification of application portfolio and alignment with the strategic business objectives.
• Strategy: Collaborate (where appropriate with other BPs) to develop, deliver and maintain one enterprise IT strategy and for the Business Process (or sub process).
• Advisory Group: Actively participate and lead where appropriate the BP Advisory Group, provide recommendations to ITLT on opportunities/issue to focus IT investment to optimize the application portfolio
At Business Unit Level: Success will be measured by achieving the maximum value for the business while ensuring the optimal set of applications at lowest possible cost while minimizing business risk.
• Account management: Accountable for managing the demand and prioritizing all IT services and representing CBS services to a specific business area.
• Governance: Establish and lead Business Governance bodies, drive to approval for projects, provide oversight and enable benefits realization, manage overall service performance and manage business risk.
• Business Process: Design the optimal set of applications and services which meets the business strategy and requirements
• Quality, Risk & Compliance: Accountable for ensuring all applications supporting the business are compliant with internal GSK security, risk management policies and practices, external regulatory and statutory requirements e.g. GxP, SARBOX and that IT continuity plans are in place for all business critical applications
• Service Management: Accountable for ensuring the right services levels are in place and maintained in line with business need and the appropriate responses made to Voice of the Process(VOP) and Voice of the Customer(VOC).
• Process Improvement: Accountable for driving ongoing business process improvements adopting lean management techniques.
• People Management – Accountable for leading matrix teams on where required

Desired profile
Basic qualifications:
• Graduate in science, engineering, computing or similar discipline
• Proven experience in a Business Partnering role ideally with relevant Global Manufacturing & Supply Chain experience in major global IT organization
• Track record in successful IT strategy development, solution design, programme and project delivery and service management
• Track record in delivering business impact through process and IT enabled solutions
• Experience of vendor management in particular IT/BPO outsourcing
• Excellent relationship management, strong influencing and communication skills
• Deep functional knowledge of Product Development processes and associated IT systems, particularly SAP PLM, BW and MM.
Preferred qualifications:
• SAP configuration experience preferably with SAP certification in respective areas of expertise
• Expert knowledge and experience of SAP solutions ideally in a Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
• Pharma, FMCG, Consumer background
• Medical devices experience
