The Facilities Mechanic II will assist Supervisor and Lead in performance of daily activities associated with routine and unscheduled maintenance. Responsible for the installation, set-up, preventative maintenance and repair of equipment associated with cGMP manufacturing operations. Comply with instructions on standard operating procedures and work instructions
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
· Equipment Maintenance: Execute preventive maintenance plans and respond to site priority work as assigned by the Supervisor and Lead. Identify and help build critical spare part lists and improve maintenance plans and procedures. Focus on training and increasing competency in assigned areas. Work to increase equipment reliability and reduce equipment and production down time. The role will require stooping, standing and frequent lift of up to 50 pounds. Workers may be required to work shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime and carry an after-hours pager to respond to alarms on a rotational basis.
· Environment Health & Safety : Responsible for application of GSK safety and environmental guidelines. Promote a safety culture; perform work in a manner to ensure safety of co-workers, equipment and self. Perform work that requires the use of LOTO, various PPE including respiratory protection and handling of chemicals.
· Quality & Compliance : Ensure all activities are executed following procedures and GMP quality expectations. Comply with SOPs and departmental documentation requirements. Attend all mandatory training. Adhere to all GSK Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures as applicable for functional area. Ensure compliance and readiness for internal and external inspections and provide adequate support to inspected departments.
· Accountability : Execute assigned work in a safe and timely manner. Escalate safety and compliance issues to the Supervisor. Support team and supervisor in completing high priority projects.
· Operational Excellence : Provide support for continuous improvement initiatives and projects. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and presents ideas to process owner.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
· 2+ years of experience in GMP manufacturing or equipment diagnostic and maintenance.
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Stooping, standing and frequent lift of up to 50 pounds.
· Requires the use of a full-face respirator to perform certain job duties.
· Being available of a rotating on-call schedule for after hours response.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in science field or training/certification in a technical field.
· Previous experience with clean utilities, process equipment and/or chemical handling is preferred as is any experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing.
· Licensure and/or formal education in any related maintenance field.
