Job description
Your Responsibilities :
GSK is a world leading research-based pharmaceutical company that combines both individual talent and technical resources to create a platform for the delivery of strong growth in a rapidly changing healthcare market. Our mission is to improve the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer.
Biopharm Discovery is a department dedicated to the discovery of novel and effective biopharmaceutical medicines. This department comprises several complementary functions focused on the progression of a portfolio of biopharmaceuticals from initial antibody discovery,
expression and characterisation to molecular engineering and biological and physiochemical profiling. Computational Sciences is a department dedicated to directly applying and broadly enabling R&D to embed the principle of ‘predict-first' to drive design and development of safe and efficacious medicines for patients.
This department comprises several complemetary groups focused on computational chemistry, predictive toxicology, systems biology and biopharmaceuticals.
Within the Computational Sciences Deptartment, the Protein Design and Informatics (PDI) group takes accountability for computational support of Biopharm Discovery. An opportunity has arisen for a computational antibody engineer with experience in computational molecular design to aid in driving all aspects of molecule quality such as affinity maturation, developability, safety and efficacy.
He/she will have the opportunity to work closely with the experimentalists, while developing and apply cutting edge computational techniques to advance biopharmecutical development .
You are an enthusiastic, dynamic and self-motivated computational scientist with technical expertise in the field of protein structure bioinformatics. In this role he/she will apply computational design tools for designing and engineering of antibodies such as rational library design, de novo antibody design, optimization of protein stability, humanization, and decreased immunogenicity.
The role also involves important aspects of verbal and written communication and requires good organisation as well as a broader scientific knowledge. Both individual and team working are required and therefore the role will suit a scientist with good interpersonal skills, abilities in data analytics, self-motivation and an open mindset.
We can offer you a collaborative learning environment and the opportunity to develop your career and gain experience across drug discovery.
