Compliance Engineer

GSK are recruiting for a Compliance Engineer to join them on a full-time and permanent basis at the Montrose site.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the technical compliance of the engineering function. You will also be representing engineering through various site-level initiatives and will be liaising with all site functions. You will be interacting with every level in the organisation; influencing stakeholders from engineering trades to site leadership team to track and support technical compliance.

You will also be developed into the site Subject Matter Expert for areas such as Asbestos, PCCE (Physical Contamination Cause and Elimination) and Root Cause Analysis. You will be encouraged to bring your own ideas for improvements both within your areas of expertise as well as within the compliance drive for the department.

You will be part of the Engineering Technical Team which includes mechanical, electrical, HVAC and reliability engineers. This is a very supportive and energetic team that facilitates the professional engineering decisions on site.

Job Purpose

·  Ensure safety & quality compliance in engineering activities on site. Ensure Site compliance with relevant industry legislation and GSK Engineering standards
·  Provide subject matter expertise within a range of engineering areas
·  Engineering safety compliance and quality assurance
·  Co-ordinator for safety and quality self-inspections as well as GSK-wide engineering alerts
·  Communication of key performance metrics
·  Engineering audit preparation
·  Ensuring Global Engineering Standards are applied within engineering through support, monitoring and control

In this role you will…

·  Lead and provide subject matter expertise on PCCE (Physical Contamination Cause and Elimination) – representing site at the GSK-wide PCCE community of practise.
·  Lead and provide subject matter expertise on Root Cause Analysis
·  Manage asbestos within the site – both proactively in terms of training and ensuring appropriate procedures are in place, as well as reactively in the case of asbestos findings
·  Deliver training within subject matter expert topics as well as on GMP.
·  Ensure the site is compliant with CDM regulations
·  Drive continuous improvement for the team and for the site

Why you?

Basic Qualifications

·  Degree qualified in mechanical/electrical/automation/civil engineering discipline or relevant equivalent engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

·  Sound knowledge and understanding of appropriate standards and procedures with regards to Quality, GMP, Validation, Safety, Environment and Engineering Design.
·  Experience of engineering or construction management within Primary Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
·  Ability to develop clear plans and programmes.
·  Computer literate and competent in the use of desktop office products as well as other company business systems.
·  Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
·  Be able to influence those where there is no line managemen
