Details:
The Business Systems Shared Services (BSSS) team exists to deliver effective and efficient ERP support
services to multiple GMS sites and functions. The role key responsibilities are to perform several BSSS services in several ERP functional modules in accordance with the SLA agreed with the business.
These services include:
• Access Provisioning
• Training Management
• Data Maintenance and data extraction
• User Support and consultancy
• Change Management advice
• Service Development & Service Management
Additional responsibilities for the role:
• Perform BSSS services for staff at home site and remote sites, in accordance with processes and direction set out by Service/Site Leads.
• Deliver Access Provisioning service through:
o Implementing authorized access requests for customers
• Deliver Training service through:
o Planning, preparing and delivering of training courses on specific topics
• Deliver Data service through:
o Maintaining ERP Master Data in a timely and accurate manner to facilitate manufacturing
operations.
o Extracting & collating data on customer request to support management decision-making
o Implement & support Data Governance & Quality Management processes to ensure Data
Harmonisation Standards are being met across the Supply Chain
• Deliver User & Business Process Support service activities through:
o Addressing ERP service incidents and service requests made to the BSSS by customers
o Provide consultancy and advice to users on areas of improvement for ways of working and on
the appropriate and effective use of ERP.
o Inherent SME/Functional expertise with good understanding of how ERP supports the
underlying Business & Data processes. Applying this expertise to support user requests,
incident & problem management at Functional/Site & cross Functional/Site Levels
• Deliver Change Management service activities through:
o Providing ERP functional expertise to support the BSSS Service/Site Leads in assessing and
implementing planned template and service changes.
o Working with other Sites & Service Partners to drive through Business Systems Improvement
Initiatives through Good Practice adoption whilst simultaneously understanding the impact on
current processes. Monitoring & reporting Benefits delivery against forecasted
benefits/savings
• Deliver Service and Performance Management activities through:
o Managing day to day internal customer and stakeholder relationships to ensure requirements,
expectations and standards are met
o Ensuring compliance and contribute towards the area of GMP, IT Security and IT Quality
within the BSSS
o Working with other Shared Services to provide technical support expertise to resolve business process incidents against defined SLAs and Service Targets.
• Deliver Service Development activities through:
o Working with customers and BSSS to consult or participate in service development projects or
initiatives.
o Supporting the detailed Transition Planning, Project Management & Delivery of BSSS Service
Development opportunities
• Support Critical GMS Initiatives through:
o Provision of Subject Matter Expertise (Data & Business Process) into Planning, Design &
Implementation. Examples include M-ERP Blueprinting, ERP Data Alignment, Bluesky.

Basic qualifications:
Evidence of experience and knowledge in one or more ERP support activities
o Education & Training
o Access Provisioning
o Training Management
o Data Changes
o User Support
• Evidence of experience and knowledge in one or more ERP functional modules
• Analytical ability to diagnose problems and to develop practical solutions
• Good communication skills, both interpersonal and presentation
• Able to interact with and influence individuals
• Able to work effectively in a matrix organisation across geographies and cultures
• Strong business knowledge of home site objectives and operations
Preferred qualifications:
• Knowledge of use of the Remedy Incident Management system.
• Good understanding of GMS objectives and its sites' operations
• Knowledge of the GSK ERP template and MRPII philosophy.
• Understanding of the GSK Quality System and validation requirements, policies, procedures and standards
• Evidence of experience and knowledge in delivering or using one or more of the following:
o IT Service Management, ITIL accreditation
o Process improvement techniques (Impact, SixSigma, LeanSigma). Greenbelt accreditation
o Risk Management techniques and processes
o Regulatory requirements for IT systems and their operational support.
