Details:

The job of a CAD Operator within the Regional Service Centre at Barnard Castle requires an expert level user of AutoCAD, an understanding of technical drawing build requirements for packaging components in PASS and the ability to create technically correct, layered drawings in accordance with GSK technical standards and to customer requirements.

Experience of artwork and packaging processes and the ability to engage with global production sites on live collaborative reviews is also a requirement/desirable.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities of the CAD Operator:
• Ensures that packaging technical specification and drawing briefs are appropriate and complete before implementing the creation process.
• Accountable for creation of technical specifications and drawings (using MS Word and AutoCAD software) in accordance with approved procedures and customer supplied brief.
• Prior to submitting completed work for proof reading, perform a comprehensive check against technical standards and customer brief to ensure delivery of high quality work.
• Responsible for providing technical support to artwork operators and other roles within PASS.
• Carry out all appropriate transactions and recording processes in the Agile software change management system and other computer software associated with the packaging specification and drawing creation process.
• Maintain accurate and complete training records in an audit ready state.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Desired profile

Basic qualifications:

Extensive, demonstrated experience in the following:

• Previous experience of technical drawing creation for the printed packaging industry is essential.
• Understanding of the quality compliance aspects for technical specification and drawing creation and the impact to customer if not adhered to.
• Competent with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• High standard of precision, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good team working skills.
• Understanding of the requirements for good customer service and communication.
