Rockville Biopharm manufactures innovative, high quality medicines for patients. The analytical group of the Biopharmaceutical Technology department (BPT-A) is responsible for analytical Tech Transfer and method qualifications for protein biopharmaceuticals. The group further provides analytical support for BPT's upstream and downstream laboratory groups during process development, process characterization and process validation. Also, BPT-A performs testing for clinical stage projects in Manufacturing at Rockville Biopharm.
The BioPharmaceutical Technology department (BPT) has an opening for an Associate Scientist in the analytical group. As part of the BPT-A team, you will:
• Train and perform testing using multiple methods to evaluate protein biopharmaceuticals for characterization, release and stability
• Work with experienced scientists to transfer, optimize, or qualify methods
• Use electronic databases to store test data
• Be part of BPT's diverse team of analytical, upstream and downstream scientists to work on process development and characterization projects
• Co-author analytical protocols and reports
• Follow FDA and/or European agency regulations on analytical methods as they apply

Desired profile

Basic qualifications:
BS/BA in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
Hands-on experience in one or more analytical methods used in the release and characterization of biopharmaceuticals, including: ELISA, residual DNA, A280, HPLC/UPLC, CGE, cIEF, Biacore
Experience writing analytical/scientific reports
The ability to plan and execute experiments
Adherence to timelines
An enthusiastic attitude and a desire to work in a team environment which includes cross-functional interactions

Preferred qualifications:
Experience with electronic data storage systems
Background in analytical methodology and instrumentation
Experience writing analytical/scientific reports
