Stock Controller - International Timber - 064305

We have a vacancy for a suitably qualified person to join our team as a Stock Controller. The role involves several aspects, but the primary tasks are to maintain stock to an agreed level and budget in order to provide excellent customer service. Experience in placing orders with suppliers, dealing with hauliers and some negotiation skills, would be useful.

Consisting of 6 sites and distributing from three quay ports we are proud to be the largest importer of timber in the UK.

Personal Ability and Academic Requirements:

· Good level of numeracy and literacy skills
· Good communication skills
· Experience in stock management

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

· Knowledge of timber products/market
· Have the ability to influence key decision makers to achieve results
· Demonstrates a desire to continually improve personal performance
· Demonstrates a high level of customer focus
· Experience in stock control
· Knowledge and experience of production scheduling
· High level of IT literacy and experience of using Microsoft office applications
· Diligent with a fine attention to detail
· Capable of handling large volumes of data accurately.
· Ability to work flexibly within a small team.
· Knowledge of the product would be an advantage and it would be ideal if the candidate were to have a CIPS qualification.
