About the job

We have an excellent opportunity for a Manual Machinist to join the production team based in Staverton, Gloucestershire to assist in the manufacture of Rotary Dresser Products.  The position works on a flexible basis Monday to Friday 37 hours per week.

Job Accountabilities

·  Demonstrate an absolute commitment to your own and others safety
·  Set-up and operate manual control machines and tools (various turning, grinding and drilling machines) with the ability to clock and operate to very tight tolerances
·  Determine tooling requirements, set-up procedures, control settings, machining methods & sequences as necessary to produce customer order lines in the most efficient and timely manner
·  Read & review work order instructions and blue print specifications to correctly interpret an engineering drawing to tight tolerances
·  Be responsible for self-inspection at all stages of manufacture, continuously measuring for conformance to individual customer tolerances using precision instruments during process as well as finished work

About you

 For this role, it’s essential that you have:

·  Machinist workshop experience with the ability to utilise knowledge of machine tool capabilities and engineering mathematics
·  a willingness to work flexibly as the plant operation requires.

It’d also be great if you have:

·  Experience of lean manufacturing techniques which would be an advantage
