As part of the Investment Management Division (IMD) within Goldman Sachs the Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) Fundamental Equity business manages assets.  These assets are managed by investing in global markets based on fundamental stock-picking strategies.  Assets traded include Equities, Futures, Options and Swaps.   The GSAM Fundamental Equity Technology team works closely with the business to propose, design, develop, enhance and maintain the tools and systems the FE business requires to accomplish its goals.  The team works directly with a number of business groups.  These include Portfolio Managers, Equity dealers, Research Analysts and Operations based in London, Tokyo, Singapore, New York, India and Australia.

The role of the candidate is to design, develop, and support the applications used by the Fundamental Equity desk in Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The candidate is expected to participate in the entire software development life cycle from definition of requirements through deployment and support.  The successful candidate will work closely with, Equity traders, Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Implementation professionals to define UX and behaviour for the tools under development as well as supporting their daily trading activity.  Our team spans users and colleagues in multiple locations from Australia through to New York and the candidate is expected to work effectively across regions.

Basic Qualifications

* 1+ years experience in a business facing IT role
* Highly motivated with a desire to work in a technical role closely aligned with a front-office trading desk
* Strong analytical skills
* Strong teamwork skills
* Strong communication and client-facing skills.
* Strong desire to learn the business.
* Experience with Sybase / SQL
* Experience with Java

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with C# / .NET or HTML5
