The Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) desks at Goldman Sachs are key players in the global Financial Markets. Goldman Sachs FICC trades a wide range of financial instruments from flow-based vanilla products to exotic structured derivatives on a variety of venues from major Exchanges to Emerging Markets. The FICC Franchise serves a global clientele, helping them manage their risk exposure. The Business has witnessed explosive growth in Electronic and Algorithmic Trading. To address this growth we continuously evolve our system landscape through our commitment to build low-latency, high-performance, and high-volume trading systems.
The Business has active trading desks in New York, London, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Our technology team maintains a global footprint providing similar time zone coverage to the Business desks. The FICC Technology Teams are responsible for designing, building and supporting systems used to run the global FICC Trading business. The teams play a key role in providing solutions for price delivery and trade capture through our low-latency Streaming and RFQ APIs. We also enable our Clients to effectively manage their positions and risk through our low-latency STP solutions.
ROLE SUMMARY
The team is currently looking for Client Onboarding specialists to work within our FIX API and STP team. You will obtain a deep understanding of the Business and the diverse array of technologies used at Goldman Sachs. You will work closely with external Clients to bring them on board to our market making API and STP platforms. Our Client base includes Exchanges, ECNs, Hedge Funds, Corporates, and Retail Aggregators. Our onboarding specialists work closely with many internal teams at Goldman Sachs, such as the FICC Sales and Trading desks, application development teams and Networking, as well external Clients’ application development and networking teams.
YOUR IMPACT
You will be involved in and responsible for the full Client onboarding cycle; from the initial network setup for development through to full production go-live. In addition, you will help clients troubleshoot development, test and production issues. You will be involved in building out tools to improve the onboarding process.
FICC is a rapidly evolving and fast-growing business that is a significant source of revenue for the firm. Given our drive towards Automation and Electronic Trading, this role will provide many challenging and rewarding opportunities.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- at least a year of work experience, preferably within but not limited to the Financial Services Industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical; given that the role involves extensive interaction with GS Clients as well as with GS Traders and Salespeople.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly identify scope and impact of issues.
- Ability to multi-task effectively as there will often be multiple concurrent issues and projects.
Desirable:
- Experience working with External Clients directly or via email and telephone.
- Working knowledge of UNIX.
- Knowledge of computer networking and connectivity.
- Experience with client/server architecture is a plus.
- Experience integrating Clients to Financial Trading Platforms.
- Experience of a FIX protocol (QuickFix, FastFix or other FIX protocols), XML or FPML.
