Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Prime Services Consulting team helps Hedge Funds clients and prospects build and maintain an appropriate organizational  infrastructure to support their strategy. The team guides hedge fund managers through the process of starting a hedge fund and provides ongoing business development resources throughout the life of their organization. Team members consult on a wide range of topics, including fund and business structuring, regulatory and compliance matters, office selection and fit out, IT and other infrastructure, operational systems & workflow, fund administration requirements, recruiting and compensation. In addition to our ongoing one-to-one consulting, we periodically host seminars, events, and conference calls to keep clients informed of the latest issues, trends, and regulatory developments in the hedge fund marketplace.  We take an active role in the broader industry policy development and best practices.  

The team seeks a junior member with a legal or compliance background in asset management or financial services regulation to support our legal, regulatory and compliance consulting efforts. This individual will be required to stay abreast of key market, policy and regulatory developments relevant to hedge funds, including building relationships with key service providers to the industry.  This role has the potential to develop over time into a strong client-facing Consulting role, helping to manage key client relationships, new business pitches and content delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring, summarizing and disseminating to clients key market policy and regulatory developments relevant to hedge funds across Asia
• Event planning and coordination including coordinating speakers and invitees
• Researching and summarizing for internal and client use, key regulatory and legal matters relevant to Asian hedge funds and markets  - particularly as relevant to HK, PRC and other Greater China markets
• Generally support the Asia Consulting team for day to day client needs

Basic Qualifications:

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with an excellent academic record
• 2-3 years’ related legal experience at a reputable law firm, hedge fund, asset management firm, investment bank or regulator
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to develop into client facing role
• Team player
• Solid work ethics and high levels of motivation and pro-activity
• Hard working and strong willingness to learn
• Fluent Mandarin
