Interested in securities analysis and financial markets? Fundamental Strategies Group (FSG) is looking for an individual to work closely with sales and trading in a commercial, markets focused role in London. Set within a team-based, dynamic environment your skills will help Goldman Sachs manage risk and add value for institutional clients through cross-capital trade ideas. The primary focus for this role will be on the European High Yield market.

OUR IMPACT

FSG is a team of desk analysts within the Securities Division that works closely with sales and trading as well as with buy-side institutional clients to generate trade ideas across the capital structure as well as to advise on trading desk positioning. We also build strong relationships with hedge funds and institutional clients through our trade ideas and market analysis. This is a dynamic, entrepreneurial team with a passion for the markets, with individuals who thrive in fast-paced, changing environments and are energized by a bustling trading floor.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL  

• Generate trade ideas through a combination of detailed fundamental micro and macro analyses as well as financial modeling and screening
• Advise sales and trading on market flows and positioning within European high yield and within the broader market
• Produce both periodic and ad hoc content on investment themes, trade ideas and markets analysis

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a financial services role (focused on corporate finance)
• Strong financial modelling and analysis skill set
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and in presentation form)
• Keen interest in financial markets and investments
• Intellectual curiosity and drive to acquire new skills and cross-train in new products
• Commercial orientation and ability to adapt to dynamic environment and markets

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and expertise in European high yield, with flexibility on sector coverage
• Leveraged finance background
• Established relationships with hedge funds and institutional investors
