Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Commodities business helps clients manage risk across a range of commodities, including oil and gas, power, coal, metals and agricultural products. Our clients include corporates, investors, commodity trading houses and other financial institutions.

The Commodities Structured Finance desk focuses on providing commodity-linked financing solutions to clients (e.g. oil & gas companies, refiners, miners, power stations) often with integrated commodity price risk management / hedging. Transaction types include secured and unsecured lending, inventory financing, supply chain intermediation, commodity leasing and monetization of future commodity production

• Work with other Trading desks, Sales / Investment Banking coverage and Desk Strats to identify potential transactions across all commodity products
• Conduct in-depth market analysis and company due diligence
• Build detailed financial models of transactions
• Analyze and price any related commodity hedging
• Draft term sheets and internal committee presentations
• Manage ongoing commodity, credit and funding risks post-execution
• Conduct daily P&L tracking and risk reporting for the trading book

Basic Qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience
• Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid work ethic and high levels of motivation
• Ability to drive projects and initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in investment banking, corporate development, structured finance and / or credit-focused role
— Experience in commodities, natural resources or power preferred but not required
• Proficiency in corporate finance, valuation and financial statement analysis
• Basic understanding of derivative products
