Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside this vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and its reputation.

Operations span all product lines and markets, serving as internal business partners who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness and integrity to our business.

Investment Management Operations delivers asset management and wealth management capabilities to clients around the world. We are a multi-faceted group that partners with all areas of the Investment Management Division to support evolving markets and business requirements. Alongside that vital service delivery role, Investment Management Operations provides essential risk management and control.

Private Wealth Management (PWM) Operations supports Private Wealth Management, which is responsible for advising wealthy individuals on strategies to build and protect their financial assets through highly customized advice and service. PWM Operations is instrumental in meeting our clients' needs and is responsible for the development, service delivery and control of global private banking; proprietary and open architecture alternative investment vehicles; derivatives trading; bookkeeping, accounting, performance measurement and reporting of Goldman-custodied assets and away-custodied assets; multiple externally managed account platforms; and multiple custody services.

PWM Operations has an opening for an Analyst/Associate on the Client Due Diligence team. The Client Due Diligence team plays a key role in safeguarding the firm and ensuring that Goldman Sachs is in compliance with regulatory requirements related to client data, such as the Patriot Act. The team is responsible for completing detailed reviews of documentation for new and existing clients, including legal agreements and organizational documents, to ensure that Goldman Sachs Client Identification Program (CIP) standards are met. The team is required to constantly apply sound business judgment in order to identify unusual or suspicious documentation or activity.  Additionally, team members must gain a profound understanding of CIP policies involving country specific requirements and apply this to day-to-day responsibilities.  The Client Due Diligence team also serves as a liaison between Anti-Money Laundering Compliance and Sales teams.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Review existing accounts to ensure that the client information received is in accordance with regulatory and firm requirements
• Apply sound business judgment to identify unusual or suspicious documentation or activity
• Review account opening documents including client provided legal agreements
• Resolve issues through coordination with PWM Operations, PWM Sales and the Anti-Money Laundering Group

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• At least 2 years of work experience in Operations or related field
• At least 2 years of work experience in Finance or related field
• Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidate must be proactive, enthusiastic and team oriented
• Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Accuracy and attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Good understanding of the financial industry
• In-depth knowledge of legal documentation preferred (e.g., trust agreements, partnership agreements and corporate resolutions)
• Paralegal experience a plus, but not required
• Compliance and/or regulatory experience a plus, not required
