Job Summary & Responsibilities

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) is looking for an attorney with asset management experience to join a team primarily responsible for registered and unregistered investment funds, including U.S. mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, distressed debt funds, corporate credits funds, fund of funds, etc.  Primary responsibilities will include legal work related to fund formation, asset raising, separate accounts, transactional work and related matters.  Other responsibilities will include third party asset raises for GSAM products and general securities law, broker dealer and Advisers Act and 40 Act issues.  The GSAM legal team provides ongoing support with respect to other advisory and asset management issues as well.

Basic Qualifications
•   3+ years’ related legal experience post-JD
•   Significant experience with fund formation and asset-raising efforts
•   Strong substantive knowledge of the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act

Preferred Qualifications
•   Outstanding law firm and law school credentials
•   High level of initiative, integrity, and organization
•   Adept at developing interpersonal relationships
•   Strong written and verbal communications skills
