An analyst level position within Goldman Sachs Asset Management on the Client Relationship Management team responsible for ensuring delivery of service requirements to new and existing Platform Solutions Group (“PSG”) and Global Liquidity Management (“GLM”) clients (institutions, asset managers, banks, insurance companies). Consistent with the overall mission of the team, the Client Relationship analyst will help support Client Relationship Managers retain and expand existing relationships by delivering superior client service.  This professional will support a diverse set of investment products (equities, fixed income, alternative products) through various distribution vehicles (‘40 Act funds, separate accounts, fund-of-funds, hedge funds, closed end funds, collective trusts).

PSG includes Subadvisory, Hedge FoF, Retirement and TPD Insurance Solutions. This team consists of over 30 sales & client service professionals based in NY and around the US distributing GSAM’s Global Equity, Fixed Income, Alternative and Customized Asset Allocation solutions.

GLM focuses on investment strategies for balance sheet cash across a variety of liquidity, principal preservation, and yield objectives.  The distribution team has over 20 sales professionals globally and serves clients such as multi-national corporations, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, insurance companies, banks, municipalities, and asset managers.

The Client Relationship analyst position is ideal for a candidate interested in developing their client service skills through supporting the Client Relationship Manager and broadening his/her knowledge of PSG and GLM marketplaces, within asset management. The ideal candidate should be very detail oriented, deadline-sensitive, and enjoy a fast-paced, high-energy work environment.

Responsibilities:
• Contribute to a broad platform that serves as the client’s main point of contact for a diverse set of functional areas, including portfolio management, trading, operations, legal, and compliance.
• Provide a superior level of service across all aspects of the client experience, including supporting the Client Relationship Manager in his/her efforts with portfolio reviews, client inquiries, ad hoc issue resolution, coordination of liquidity needs, negotiation of customized and standardized report delivery, and management of client meetings.
• Help coordinate life-cycle events of separate accounts, including implementation of new business, account restructures and terminations.  Ability to manage tasks across a multi-disciplined team generally consisting of Strategic Client Services, Client Implementation, Portfolio Management, Trading, Operations, Performance Measurement and Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Accounting/Billing.
• Work on special projects that build out the service model and infrastructure to create scale and efficiencies within the client relationship manager function.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, detail oriented, and deadline sensitive.  
• Strong project management skills including ability to organize and track multiple threads of activity, ability to deliver on tight timelines, hands-on approach to resolving issues, detail oriented, excellent communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills: ability to build the trust and confidence of clients, ability to strengthen client relationships through ongoing dialog and interactions, ability to work well with others internally to accomplish client objectives.
• Basic knowledge of investment products across all major asset classes preferred (equities, fixed income, money markets and alternatives)
• Communication skills: Strong presentation skills, ability to summarize client meetings and/or other client interactions to various levels within the organization.
