The Real Estate Finance Group within the Investment Banking Division in London is looking for an experienced Associate with current real estate finance experience to join the team.
OUR IMPACT
Within the Investment Banking Division (IBD) our Real Estate Financing Group originates, structures, advises and executes bank loan and bond financings for our clients, being generally commercial real estate investors and financial sponsors, including acquisitions, refinancing, M&A transactions and restructurings. The team serves as intermediaries between the debt capital markets (including sales, trading, and buy side investors) and our clients. The group works closely with multiple areas of the firm including Classic Investment Banking, Credit and Capital Markets. Real Estate Finance Associates develop strong fundamental credit, modelling and risk management skills as well as in-depth knowledge in the commercial real estate market.
HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL
Investment Banking colleagues at Goldman Sachs gain exposure to the firm’s businesses and expanded knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications, marketing and sales skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and analysing financial models, performing scenario analyses and tests to examine the effects of client alternatives.
- Organising and prepare presentations, which explain industry trends, discuss client options, and recommend strategies to meet client goals.
- Participating in and conducting due diligence sessions, a necessary component of financial transactions.
- Maintaining client communication to helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong academic record with minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline required
- Recent real estate finance deal experience within the UK and European Markets; gained from working in investment banking industry essential
- Experience of analysing large data sets, underwriting, reviewing legal documents and reports required for both real estate asset and loan-on-loan financings
- Must have experience of building financial models, risk management, tenant analysis
- Experience of conducting due-diligence (including property and environmental due-diligence) required
- Strong client relationship management skills required
- Must be a proficient user of MS Excel with knowledge of VBA macros
- Drive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent interpersonal skills required
- Must have strong quantitative and technical abilities
- Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities required
- Must has strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Multi-tasking and time management skills required
- Must be a team-player
