Goldman Sachs & Public Sector & Infrastructure Banking Overview:

Goldman Sachs' Public Sector and Infrastructure Banking Group (“PSI”) is seeking talented professionals for a full-time Investment Banking  Associate position within the Infrastructure sub-group.

PSI sits within the Americas Financing Group in the Investment Banking Division. PSI cultivates underwriting and advisory relationships with state and local governmental entities, transportation and mass transit agencies, sports franchises, major infrastructure construction firms, not-for-profit hospital and healthcare organizations, higher education organizations, public power and utility systems, and other public projects by assisting them in meeting their short- and long-term financing needs.

Our team is lean, so Analysts and Associates are given real responsibility right away and work closely with all levels, including Vice Presidents and Managing Directors, to prepare written and oral presentations and execute financings. Once mandated on a transaction, Analysts and Associates provide a full range of services including transaction structuring analysis, assisting in developing and preparing credit information for formal bond rating agency and investor presentations, working with the team to assess a variety of credit enhancement structures, reviewing legal and other offering documents and reviewing product alternatives as pricing approaches. Given the size of our team, the best Analysts and Associates are extremely motivated individuals who consistently are thinking two and three steps ahead. Self-starters and people with opinions and ideas are welcome.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must have completed an undergraduate degree and be available to start immediately (subject to any notice period required by their current employer, if applicable)
• A keen, long-term interest in investment banking and the financial markets
• At least 1 year of relevant banking experience
• Strong quantitative and technical abilities, including Excel modeling experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities
• Strong multi-tasking and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the sports sector, ideally at a bank, consulting firm, rating agency,  or in a private equity infrastructure fund, infrastructure asset manager or developer
• Ability to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy
