DIVISIONAL OVERVIEW
Global Investment Research (GIR) provides investment recommendations by generating fundamental research and analysis of companies, industries, markets and economies. GIR analysts help our clients achieve superior returns through our creative, differentiated investment insights and ideas. Our clients include mutual funds, hedge funds and pension funds, among others.
POSITION – BUSINESS ANALYST, ANALYST RESEARCH TRAINING PROGRAM
The role of the GIR Business Analyst based in Salt Lake City is to support global equity and credit research teams by compiling, analyzing, and summarizing data and other information. The role will focus not only on quantitative tasks such as developing financial and industry models, but also on contributions to the production of fundamental equity and credit research reports. The Analyst Research Training (ART) program is two years in length. Upon the completion of an initial six -week training program, participants will be assigned to an equity or credit research team.
ANALYST RESEARCH TRAINING PROGRAM (ART) OVERVIEW
• Two-year program with a focus on:
o Valuation techniques
o Modeling techniques
o Market data/market movement
o Writing thought leading research
• Series licensing during training
RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with the Senior Analyst and other team members, the goal of the ART Business Analyst is to:
• Develop strong industry and company knowledge
• Build and maintain financial models
• Interpret data and perform analysis on market , economic, and industry trends
• Write reports/notes on companies under coverage
• Update and maintain monthly reports, marketing books, weekly reports, and valuation sheets
• Contribute to the generation and execution of investment ideas
• Respond to ad hoc requests from clients, sales, and traders
Basic Qualifications
• College degree
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Exceptional analytical skills, lateral thinking, and judgment
• A proactive approach and a high level of enthusiasm
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
