Job Summary & Responsibilities

Global Investment Research delivers client-focused research in the equity, fixed income, currency and commodities markets. Goldman Sachs develops global client-focused research in economics, portfolio strategy, derivatives and equity and credit securities. Our clients use these insights and investment ideas to develop their strategies.

Global Investment Research produces original, fundamental research and analysis of industries, companies and economies. Our research teams continually identify and analyze financial information, strategic issues and trends that affect companies, industries and markets on a regional and global scale.

Principal Responsibilities;
- Research and critically analyze market information for the assigned sector
- Interpret data and analysis on market, economic, and political events
- Audit company and industry data and statistics
- Develop and update financial models
- Support a writing analyst in helping to build the franchise
- Handle requests for information from clients and other Goldman Sachs departments
- Communicate with the Equities sales force and traders, clients, and company managements
- Write notes on companies under coverage

Basic Qualifications

- At least 6 months of fundamental research or investment banking experience
- Strong educational background with the degree in Finance/ Economics/ Accounting
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English
- Native level proficiency in Japanese language in both speaking and writing

Preferred Qualifications

- Strong valuation skills and modeling skills are required
- Strong ability to perform financial statement, business and valuation analysis
- High level of attention to detail, ability to work accurately with a large amount of data
- Strong ability to multi-task and work within teams
- Comparable business/financial/consulting experience preferred
