Job Summary & Responsibilities
DIVISIONAL OVERVIEW:
The Controllers group is responsible for safeguarding the firm's assets: to help maintain the integrity of Goldman Sachs' finances and expenditures. Through careful consideration and analysis of firm finances, objectives and strategies,
We ensure that the firm's businesses continue to be profitable and efficiently run. Controllers also ensure that all business practices are in compliance with financial and regulatory requirements worldwide. Since contact with virtually every part of the firm is essential to Controllers, professionals in the department experience Goldman Sachs businesses, products and sophisticated technology systems in depth.
Legal Entity Controllers (LEC) are responsible for, among other things, the integrity of the legal entity level financial statements in accordance with all relevant GAAPs and reporting requirements, for Federal Reserve reporting and for facilitating the firm's consolidation. LEC is a controller of a GS entity and is responsible for performing controls and reporting tasks to help in the safeguarding of the assets and the reputation of the firm. The LEC functions as a Controller & Steward, a Strategic Influencer & a Business Partner.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Responsible for the integrity of entity level financial statements in accordance with all relevant GAAPs & ensure that financial reporting is of high quality and meets applicable accounting principles and regulations
Manage the regular preparation and submission of consolidated and non-consolidated US GAAP financial reporting and disclosures
Perform full detailed monthly closing of standalone legal entity income statement & balance sheet
Analyze intercompany balances, reconciliations, daily funding payments and resolving breaks
Perform SOX control procedures, Balance Sheet substantiation, etc.
Basic Qualifications
SKILL / EXPERIENCE
Required skill sets include:
Qualified CA
Basic industry knowledge and strong accounting knowledge.
Strong Leadership and team management skills
Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel) required
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Skills:
India GAAP, USGAAP and IFRS knowledge
Accounting knowledge of financial products like Interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, currency options
Candidate must be proactive, enthusiastic and team oriented
Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
Accuracy and attention to detail
