Analyst - Project Finance (intern)

Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will be a junior deal team member working on 1-2 live financing transactions/deals in the renewable energy and energy efficiency space
- Directly supporting Associate Director to Managing Director originators to structure deals (industry research, technology research, government policy research, financial modelling)
- Prepare marketing sheets, anonymised deal sheets, and deal pitchbooks.
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree in Business Administration/Commerce with an Accounting or Finance specialisation essential
• Native-level English writing skills are essential
• Ability to read and understand historical and projected financial statements and footnotes and ability to create all or parts of a financial model are essential
• A very high attention to detail. Ability to follow instructions closely, ask clarifying questions when receiving assignment, estimate the time required to complete the task and schedule from outset, ask clarifying questions at outset and as task work is being completed, and report the completion of the task along with the required deliverable on time
• Experience/knowledge of renewable energy, energy efficiency and infrastructure projects across the UK/Europe, or a willing to learn and track the landscape within the first week or two of the position through much assigned readings and independent web readings.
• An understanding UK government energy policy and programmes, and of the UK economy via economic indicators/statistic (or learned through an assigned reading blitz in first week or two.)
• Flexible work schedule and ability to meet team in different parts of Central London.
• Full formal business attire required.
• Be subject to a confidentiality arrangement from the outset.
DESIRED
• A main career interest to work in the front-end of doing financial deals in project finance, corporate finance, or investment banking to raise finance for renewable energy, traditional energy or other infrastructure projects.
• An understanding of the major players in UK lending, private equity, private debt and infrastructure investment landscape (or learned through assigned reading blitz in first week or two).
• Strong professional organisational skills and the commitment to learn professional organisational skills through detailed guidance an coaching.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal English.
- Demonstrated self starter, with the confidence to work efficiently.
- Ability to manage productivity without extensive daily oversight.
- Ability to summarise findings concisely in both verbal and written communications.
- Diligent worker with attention to detail
