Job description

Giggles Day Nursery is a private day nursery. We cater for children aged from 3 month to 5 years. We have two settings based in the Hounslow Borough.

We are located on the Bath Road in Hounslow TW3 3EH , 5 mins from Hounslow town centre and off the Worton Road, Isleworth TW7 6HY

We have been established since May 2007. We have an experienced and friendly team of staff.

Working hours: Full time 40hrs per week

Part time Mornings 8am-1pm afternoons 1am-6pm or full days

Job description for a Nursery Practitioner

Report to: Nursery Manager/ Deputy Manager

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensuring a high standard of care, coving all areas of the EYFS

  2. Implementing the daily routine in the base room

  3. Covering all areas of a key person responsibilities



Duties

  1. Have a good knowledge and understanding of the nurseries policies and procedures.

  2. To be aware of all staff roles within the nursery/Senco, child protection officer, first aiders, fire officer, etc.

  3. Ensure a high quality of care and education for the under-fives with a stimulating and varied program which suits the individual child.

  4. Ensure a safe environment for the children and adults, with regards to good hygiene, safe and clean equipment which conform to the health and safety procedures.

  5. Prepare and fully set out the nursery room before the children’s arrival, keep it clean and tidy during the daily sessions and tidy up at the end of the day.

  6. Provide and take part in all nursery activities.

  7. Listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate and ensure the safe keeping of the children.

  8. Actively encourage and participate in parent involvement and comply with the partnership with parents polices of the nursery by liaising with parents, nursery team and outside agencies.

  9. Actively participate in the key person policy.

  10. Help settle children taking into account their particular needs and liaise with the nursery Manager and / or Deputy Manager to discuss how the settling in, is progressing.

  11. Organise and take part in outings. Visits and special events.

  12. Attend staff meetings, whether during nursery day, in the evening (where necessary).

  13. Attend training courses during nursery day, evenings and/or weekends if necessary.

  14. Communicate with the nursery Manager/ Deputy Manager on any matter requiring attention such as concerns regarding a child, equipment needing repair or replacing.

  15. Help keep records of register, accident/incident forms, medication, planning sheets, children’s observations, tracking books, learning journals, self-assessments, risk assessments etc.

  16. Maintain strict confidentiality with any information regarding the children, their families and staff that is learnt as part of the job.

  17. Actively participate in the equal opportunities policy of the nursery.

  18. Ensure you comply with child ratio regulations and suitably qualified staff are in each room at all times.

  19. Ensure you comply with safeguarding children and health and safety at all times.

  20. Take an active role in fire evacuation procedure.

  21. Ensure meal times for the children are pleasant, social sharing experience.

  22. And any other duty that maybe required of you.
